Instagram is testing a feature that allows users to share in their Instagram Stories the images posted by other users
And finally even Instagram has succumbed to the charm of the “Share” button. The social network dedicated to photos until now had not integrated a feature that would allow users to share on their personal profile the images of other users. But it finally had to give in and the magical “Share” button was made available only to a few users. It’s still in the testing phase, but if all goes well, it will be released for all registered users of the social.
Hitherto those who wanted to respost an image on Instagram were forced to use an ad hoc app (Repost for Instagram, Save & Repost for Instagram, InstaRepost for Instagram) or take a screenshot of the image. With this new feature it will not be necessary to use one of these tricks, but just use the repost developed by Instagram, which, however, has a particular operation. The image that we would like to share on our profile, will not be added to the Instagram feed, but will be published in the form of a Story on Instagram.
How the repost of images developed by Instagram works
The few users who have received a preview of the new feature to make the repost, have posted images on social that show how it will work. When we find an image posted by one of our friends on Instagram and we want to share it on our profile, we will have to press a special button that will allow us to publish it within our Stories. At this point we will enter into the photo editor of Instagram Stories and we will have the ability to customize the post: we can tag the author of the shot and add colored writing. In the image published in the Story on Instagram there will also be a button in the middle of the screen with the words “See post” that links directly to the original post. For the repost in the Instagram Stories, the application has also created an ad hoc graphical interface, with the shared image in the foreground and a colored background behind where to insert a text or a GIF.
Who will be able to use the repost of images
As mentioned, for the moment the feature is only available to some users and is in the testing phase. If everything goes right, the tool will be released for everyone. The repost of images via Instagram Stories is designed especially for companies that advertise through the social platform: thanks to this new feature they will be able to push users to share their products on their profile.
