From Joker to The Goddess Fortune, there are plenty of movies in Premiere, but users will also be able to see classics and two new TV series. Here’s what’s new for the summer from Infinity
Infinity has released its list of new releases coming in August 2020. It will be a very hot month for those who love movies and TV series, even when they are on vacation. In fact, all you need is an internet connection to access the platform and choose the content to watch.
The service has made its way and has become one of the most important also thanks to the intelligent selection of titles included in the catalog. The originality is confirmed for August: starting next month we will be able to enjoy streaming great cinema classics such as Mrs. Doubtfire or Pacific Rim – The Uprising, but also animated films for children, including Kung Fu Panda. There will be no shortage of Premiere movies, which this month are four. Alongside a long list of films, the platform will also offer new episodes of two TV series: Claws and The Detour. In short, there’s a lot of news, so all that’s left to do is take a look at the calendar and discover the upcoming titles.
Infinity: Premiere films in August 2020
August opens with four pieces of content to watch in Premiere on the platform. These are films that have just been released in theaters, so they are ideal for those who are passionate about cinema and don’t want to miss a single title. The films are available on the platform for a limited time so you need to get the ball rolling right away.
The first is The Perfect Deception which will be available online from August 7 to 13, 2020. Directed by Bill Condon and released in theaters in 2019, the film tells the story of Roy (Ian McKellen) and Betty (Helen Mirren), two elderly men who meet on a dating site for senior citizens. Roy lives thanks to scams and deceptions against clueless wealthy men, but will discover that for him Betty is much more and will try to make the acquaintance last, not without lies and difficulties of different kinds.
The second film is The Right to Oppose, which will be released on Infinity from August 14 to 20. The film was also very successful in Italy, where it grossed 1.3 million euros at the Box Office. In addition, it had a nomination at SAG Awards. It tells the true story of Bryan Stevenson, a lawyer who became famous for fighting for a more honest and inclusive justice system.
The third film is The Goddess Fortune, which we will be able to see from August 21 to 27. It is the latest film by Ferzan Ozpetek, starring Stefano Accorsi, Edoardo Leo, Sara Ciocca and Jasmine Trinca. It won an award at the David di Donatello and 3 Nastri d’Argento. It starts from the relationship between Alessandro and Arturo made of habit, boredom and difficulties. Their daily life is suddenly interrupted by the arrival of their friend Annamaria with her two children, a fact that will give an unexpected turn to their routine as a couple.
August closes in beauty on Infinity with the film Joker, in Premiere from August 28 to September 3. The feature film is directed by Todd Philipps and focuses on the figure of one of Batman’s iconic antagonists: Arthur Fleck, aka Joker, played masterfully by Joaquin Phoenix. The film is considered one of the best productions of last year and has won numerous awards, including 2 Oscars out of 11 nominations.

Aside from the Premiere films, the platform is ready to roll out a long list of streaming features, designed for younger viewers as well. For example, Kung Fu Panda and Kung Fu Panda 2 will be available from August 17 and 18, respectively, while the two films X-Men: Final Conflict and X-Men Origins – Wolverine are coming on August 1 and 2. Those who are looking for something light and very summery to watch, can tune in from August 7 and 8 to watch Abbronzatissimi and Abbronzatissimi 2 – Un anno dopo.
Among other small masterpieces of cinema there will be Downsizing – Vivere alla Grande which will arrive from August 23. It tells the sci-fi story of Paul (Matt Damon) and his wife Audrey (Kristen Wiig) who decide to get shrunk and move to a miniature world to live a more comfortable life. For lovers of fantasy stories will also arrive the first episode of the Lord of the Rings saga, The Fellowship of the Ring, available from August 19, while from August 13 will be available on the platform The Banana Splits Movie, a funny horror film based on the children’s TV series The Banana Splits. These are just a few of the major titles we’ll see available starting next month.

In addition to the long list of films, the platform will also host the third season of Claws starting August 1. It tells the story of five Florida beauticians who enter the world of organized crime by starting to launder money for a nearby clinic. From August 2 instead it will be possible to watch the fourth season of The Detour, a funnier series that tells the adventures of a family with two children who decide to spend the vacations in florida but it soon turns out to be unsuccessful due to a series of disastrous events.
