To be able to use Immuni you need a smartphone with precise requirements: here are what they are
Immuni has arrived with its load of doubts and many are still trying to understand how the app will work. While waiting for the experimentation to start in the first four regions (Liguria, Puglia, Marche and Abruzzo), Italian citizens can already download it on their smartphone and set it up correctly.
But which are the smartphones supported by Immuni? Will it work on all cell phones or will it be necessary to have a device with ad hoc features? Bending Spoons, the software house that developed the app, has made sure that Immuni is compatible with the widest possible number of smartphones: remember that for the app to do its job properly it must be used by at least 60-70% of the population.
These first hours of Immuni have also served to have some reassurances from the point of view of privacy: no sensitive personal data is sent to the central servers and the identification code is anonymous and in no way identifies the person.
On which smartphone Immuni works
To use Immuni on your cell phone it is necessary that it meets certain requirements. First of all, it must have Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), otherwise it will not be possible to activate the system of exposure notifications on which Immuni is based.
Requirements to be met also with regard to the version of the operating system: those who have an Android smartphone must have at least version 6.0 or later of the mobile OS and Google Play Services updated to version 20.18.13. Those with an iPhone must update their smartphone to iOS 13.5, a version supported by iPhone 11, 11 Pro. 11 Pro Max, iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, iPhone X, iPhone Xr, iPhone 8, 8 Plus, iPhone 7, 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE e iPhone SE 2020.

Immuni è disponibile al download sul Google Play Store e App Store. L’applicazione sarà rilasciata nei prossimi giorni anche sull’App Gallery, lo store online di Huawei. Nelle prime ore dopo il rilascio sul Google Play Store, alcuni utenti hanno segnalato alcuni problemi di utilizzo dell’app, soprattutto con gli smartphone Huawei. Problemi di cui al momento non si conosce la causa.
Come si attiva Immuni
Ci sono tre elementi fondamentali senza i quali non è possibile utilizzare il sistema di contact tracing sviluppato da Bending Spoons per conto del Governo:
- l’app Immuni.
- l’attivazione del Bluetooth Low Energy.
- l’attivazione del GPS.

How to configure Immuni
The steps to follow to configure Immuni are quite simple and explanations on the screen allow you to intuitively understand what to do. First of all, you must enter the Region and the Province where you live, so that the data can be used for an epidemiological survey and to easily identify the presence of new outbreaks. After this first information, the app asks you to activate the Bluetooth exposure notification system, which needs Bluetooth and GPS to work.
Remember that the use of Immuni is not mandatory, but on a voluntary basis and those who do not use it are not deprived of any freedom. Using it, however, allows you to intervene early on the spread of the virus.
