Law enforcement agencies have discovered numerous clothing hooks with cameras placed by perverts in public restrooms and gyms
What’s wrong with a hook for hanging jackets and vests inside a restroom? Nothing, you may say. Yet police have discovered that these hooks, equipped with tiny cameras, are being used by perverts to take very intimate and indiscreet shots.
Police have recently discovered clothing hooks with built-in cameras in several places. From public restrooms to hotels, via gymnasium locker rooms and in bathrooms at tourist attractions. The small devices, used by perverts, can also be found for sale online. For a cost of about 10 euros. To see them look like real clothes hooks, only that in the tip of the hook hides a camera. Initially they were born as devices for home security, to be applied to the entrances and strategic points so as not to arouse suspicion of thieves and ill-intentioned.
How perverts act
The perverts who are using these cameras to spy on unsuspecting victims always act in the same way. They equip the hook camera with a microSD card to save the footage, then attach it to the interior doors of the bathrooms. Every two, maximum three hours, they return to the public place to change the battery. Which has a range, precisely, quite short. After a few hours they return home and move the images to a computer. At this point they could also share them on the Net or use them to blackmail the victims.
How to defend yourself
The police as well as several people were alarmed by the news. So much so that the law enforcement agencies have advised to thoroughly check all the details inside a public restroom before using it. If by chance we should come across a camera hidden in a hook the advice of the police is not to touch the device, but to get out of the bathroom and immediately alert the police. In this way we will avoid repercussions if the pervert is around and above all we will allow the police to locate and detach the camera.
