The triple camera system designed by Huawei is the best on the market today. But the other technical specifications aren’t to be despised either
If there was still a need for confirmation, it came today from Paris, the venue chosen by Huawei to present its first top-of-the-line 2019 devices. Cameras are the most important feature of top-end smartphones and it is on this terrain that the major manufacturers must try to excel.
So, for the second year in a row, the Chinese brand presents the best photographic smartphone ever, with ratings that make the competition pale. It is the Huawei P30 Pro, flagship device for this beginning of 2019. DxOMark, a German research organization specializing in photographic devices (cameras and smartphones), awarded the Huawei P30 Pro an overall rating of 112 (119 to the photo and 97 to the video compartment), compared to 109 for the P20 Pro and Mate 20 Pro, the Galaxy S10+ and 105 for the iPhone Xs Max.
But, as was to be expected, it is the whole technical card of the Huawei P30 Pro to excel: SoC Kirin 980 with neural processor dedicated to image analysis, high battery life, OLED screen with diagonal greater than 6 inches and unlock sensor “drowned” in the screen. But let’s see everything in detail.
Technical features Huawei P30 Pro
The new Chinese top of the range mounts a FullHD (2340×1080 pixels) OLED display with 6.47-inch diagonal, slightly curved edges on the long sides and a very small teardrop notch at the top. Inside the shell finds space, as mentioned, the Kirin 980 (made with 7-nanometer manufacturing technology) supported by 8 gigabytes of RAM and storage memory available in two variants (128 gigabytes and 256 gigabytes). The storage space, moreover, is expandable thanks to the nanoSD card slot, supports with the same size as a nano SIM.
The Huawei P30 Pro supports dual band ac Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC, as well as all geolocation chips (GPS, GLONASS and Galileo). Missing, however, is the 3.5mm audio jack. Unlocking is ensured by face scanning and the fingerprint sensor drowned in the screen. To power everything we find a 4,200 mAh battery, with ultra-fast charging from 40 Watts (recharges 70% of the battery in just 30 minutes).
Photographic compartment Huawei P30 Pro
The most interesting part of the technical card of the Huawei P30 Pro is, of course, the photo compartment.

An ingenious system that allows the new Chinese top of the line camera to take bright photos even at night.
The main sensor has a 40-megapixel resolution, wide-angle with f/1.6 aperture and optical stabilization; the secondary sensor has a 20-megapixel resolution, super-wide-angle with f/2.2 aperture; the third is a sensor with an 8-megapixel telescopic lens and 5X optical zoom (which becomes 10X with a hybrid interpolation system and reaches a 50X digital magnification). Thanks to artificial intelligence algorithms “moved” by the Kirin 980’s neural computing unit, the Huawei P30 Pro is able to take images comparable to those of professional SLRs, whatever the light conditions or magnification.
Price and Availability Italy
The Huawei P30 Pro is already available in Italy, with promotions for those who decide to buy it in the very first days of launch. The 128-gigabyte Huawei P30 Pro price is €999; the price of the 256-gigabyte version goes up to €1,099 instead.
