Huawei Mate X release postponed. It will arrive in November

The release of the Huawei Mate X has been postponed to November. The causes are not known, but probably the company wants to improve reliability

It seemed to be all set for the September release of the Huawei Mate X, but with a surprise announcement the Chinese company has moved the arrival on the market of the foldable smartphone to the month of November, just before the start of the holiday season. A real curse that has hit the smartphones with flexible screen: they were expected for the month of April, but in August still are not launched on the market.

In fact, in addition to the Mate X, was to be launched also the Galaxy Fold by Samsung, but after the first reports of reliability problems, the South Korean company has preferred to delay the release and perfect the smartphone. According to the latest rumors, Samsung’s foldable smartphone is expected to arrive in September, but there is still no official date. The cause of the delay in the release of Huawei’s Mate X is precisely the South Korean company’s Galaxy Fold. After seeing the structural problems of the device, the Chinese company preferred to postpone the release and strengthen the internal components, so that the foldable smartphone will be perfect.

Most likely, the tests carried out in recent months have not given the expected answers and Huawei has to change some aspect of the Mate X. Those who tried the Galaxy Fold reported problems especially in the hinge that allows you to open and close the smartphone, likely the Mate X will suffer from the same issues.

When the Huawei Mate X comes out

Huawei has set the new market launch for November 2019, close to the holiday season. The Mate X will probably no longer be the first foldable smartphone to be launched on the market: Samsung has set the release of the Galaxy Fold for September, although no date has been made official for the moment.

The hope is to see by the end of 2019 the first device with a flexible screen. The anticipation created around these devices has been very high, but being smartphones with delicate and never-before-used components, it is normal that there have been reliability issues. We’ll see if positive news comes in the coming weeks
