HTC closes the year with two new models of its top of the range: Life uses a stock version of Android while HTC U11+ mounts an 18:9 screen
The year of redemption. After a rather complicated period, HTC seems to have been reborn in this 2017: many smartphones presented and all of excellent workmanship. To end the year on a high note, the Taiwanese company has decided to launch on the market two new versions of the HTC U11, the top of the range presented in May.
The two new models are respectively the HTC U11+ and the HTC U11 Life. The first one features an updated hardware compartment and more performance than the HTC U11, while the Life version is a mid-range device that will become part of the Android One family. This means that it will mount a stock version of the green robot’s operating system and will receive updates as soon as Google makes them available. Both devices will be available in Italy and the pre-order will be open on the Taiwanese company’s website. The price of the HTC U11+ is 799 euros, while the HTC U11 Life arrives in Italy at 395 euros.
Technical data sheet HTC U11+
Top of the range with 18:9 screen and bezel-less design. These features are enough to summarize the data sheet of the new HTC U11+, the top of the range of the Taiwanese company that will be pre-order from November 20 at a price of 799 euros. The smartphone mounts a Snapdragon 835 chipset supported by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. For the screen HTC has adopted the new fashion born in the last months of 2017: 18:9 display with very thin bezels on all four sides. The screen is 6 inches with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. The photo compartment relies on the good things already done by the previous model: the front camera is 8 Megapixels, while the rear one is 12 Megapixels. The audio compartment integrates the new Boomsound technology that provides 30% better performance than the HTC U11. 3930mAh battery. The smartphone has an IP68 certification, which makes it waterproof and resistant to water and dust
The smartphone mounts the Android 8.0 version customized with the Sense interface that integrates the Edge Sense function that allows you to activate some functions by just squeezing the smartphone. The smartphone will only be available in Ceramic Black color.
Features HTC U11 Life
Leaving aside the technical sheet (which certainly plays an important role), the most important feature of the HTC U11 Life is the operating system. The smartphone, in fact, belongs to the ever-growing family of Android One, i.e. phones that run a stock version of the green robot’s operating system. The HTC U11 Life is the first Android One smartphone from the Taiwanese company.
Now let’s move on to the spec sheet. The smartphone mounts a Snapdragon 630 chipset supported by 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 2TB). The display is 5.2 inches with a resolution 1920×1080 pixels. Great attention is paid to the photo compartment: both cameras are 16-megapixel and allow you to take pictures with HDR Boost. The rear camera also allows you to record videos in 4K. In the package there are also USonic noise-canceling headphones. The device integrates Edge Sense technology to interact activate special functions by simply squeezing the edges. 2600 mAh battery. The smartphone will come to market with Adnroid Oreo 8.0 and Google Assistant in Italian. The HTC U11 Life is already available for pre-order at a price of 395 euros.
