In iOS 11 you can automatically share Wi-Fi connection passwords with other Apple devices, here’s how to do it
In the new version of Apple’s mobile operating system, iOS 11, several features have been included that can make it much more convenient for users to use their smartphones. Among these, the most interesting is the ability to share Wi-Fi passwords between two iPhones.
The feature, which is completely new, was discovered by chance by some users who immediately commented on the Net about the news on various forums dedicated to Cupertino devices. To share the password, iPhones must be updated to iOS 11 and must be close enough to each other. This is a very convenient feature when we go to a friend’s house, when we ask for the password of the wireless connection inside a room or a store, and even when we go to a public place like a station or a shopping mall. Activating this new feature takes just a few simple steps.
Shared Wi-Fi passwords on iOS 11
To share a Wi-Fi password, the first step is to go to the section dedicated to Wi-FiĀ on the iPhone not connected to the Internet. At this point we’ll have to select the same Network to which the other iPhone is connected (the password sharing feature also works between Mac and iPhone). On the screen where we usually enter the Wi-Fi password we’ll find a message inviting us to bring our phone not connected to the smartphone connected to the network to automatically share the password and access the Internet. At this point on the iPhone already connected a pop-up message will appear asking us if we are willing to share the password. If the user confirms this step, the non-connected iPhone will receive the useful information, which it will fill in by default, to surf online. It should be remembered that this feature is currently only active on iOS 11. So it won’t work between Android and Apple devices, nor between two or more iPhones that haven’t been updated to the latest version of Cupertino’s mobile operating system.
