WhatsApp has changed our lives, retiring the dear old text messages. However, sometimes the instant messaging app can cause us some problems, especially when we don’t want to and can be disturbed. What to do? We can block the contact or turn off the phone. Or we can set up an automatic response.
All we will need to send automatic responses is to find the right applications. WhatsApp, in fact, at the moment does not yet have any automatic response tool. And it is not known if it will ever be added. These programs – also available for free – prepare responses depending on the situation. We will just have to choose to whom to send the automatic response, the time of sending and the type of message. After that, the application, according to our instructions, will be able to handle all incoming messages.
How to set up an automatic response on WhatsApp on Android
Some of these applications, however, require administrator privileges. For users who have a smartphone running Android, you can find two free programs on Google’s market that allow you to quickly and automatically send a reply. Let’s start with Auto Reply For WhatsApp. The application does not need access to root permissions to work. All you need to do is tell the software how to handle the messages. In particular, Auto Reply For WhatsApp will allow us to set the contact to which we want the app to respond automatically, the time of sending the response and choose, among the predefined phrases, the text of the message (alternatively we can customize the response).
A second application, similar to the previous one, is AutoResponder for WhatsApp. Compared to Auto Reply For WhatsApp, the auto reply app asks for administrator privileges. AutoResponder for WhatsApp offers some good options. For example, users can decide to trigger the auto reply only when a contact has written a certain word in a message. Again, it will be possible to choose from a set of predefined messages or edit the text of the response. In addition, you can set the time of the automatic response for each contact.
How to set an automatic response on WhatsApp on iOS
For users sending automatic responses on WhatsApp is just as simple. The application best known and used is WAAutoReply, a system that, however, only works if the device has been jailbroken, that is, a procedure that allows you to install on the devices of the Californian company apps and programs produced by third parties and not present on the official market. The main difference, compared to Android applications, is that the software installs the automatic response functionality directly on WhatsApp. Once activated, WAAutoReply will send an automatic response to the selected contacts. You can choose the text of the message from those proposed or edit it.
