Dove trovare il codice IMEI sull’iPhone
Il metodo più semplice, se non ci si è già sbarazzati della scatola del proprio iPhone, è tenerla in un posto sicuro: il codice IMEI è presente su un’etichetta sopra un codice a sbarre, insieme a varie altre informazioni come, per esempio, il numero di serie. Se si è ancora in possesso dell’iPhone, trovate questo codice da 15 cifre nella sezione Impostazioni > Generali > Informazioni > IMEI. È possibile copiarlo da qualche parte e tenerlo, possibilmente, lontano da occhi indiscreti. Oppure toccare e tenere premuto il dito sul numero IMEI sullo smartphone per copiarlo ed eventualmente incollarlo in un mail da spedirsi.

Chi scopre l’importanza dell’IMEI solo dopo, nella migliore delle ipotesi, aver smarrito l’iPhone, deve trovare un altro posto dove andarlo a recuperare. Sempre se non si sono seguiti i consigli del paragrafo precedente e la scatola è stata buttata via. La soluzione si chiama iTunes. Chi dispone di un Mac vada su iTunes > Preferenze, mentre chi usa Windows su Modifica > Preferenze. A questo punto, in entrambi i casi, spostarsi sulla scheda Dispositivi dove sarà possibile nel riquadro Backup trovare, tra le varie informazioni, anche il codice IMEI. Why is the IMEI code so important?
The reason is simple, as mentioned earlier: the IMEI is a code that uniquely identifies a smartphone. And it’s one of those pieces of information you need, along with the serial number, to make a report of theft or loss of your iPhone to the police, but also to your carrier, so that it can disable your account, prevent calls, messages and data usage. Apple also offers a specific function to limit damages and eventually find an iPhone: it is the Find My iPhone application that, if activated, allows – if you are lucky – to remotely block the use of the device and eventually locate it on a map.
