Google launches an app through which we can receive money if we do small jobs at home or nearby
There is a way to do “jobs” for Google, and beyond, and receive money in your bank account, but it’s not for everyone. It’s called “Task Mate” and it’s a new app by Google and it’s in “Early Access” on the Indian Play Store, that is, it’s dedicated to a few beta testers.
As you can read in the app’s information sheet, in fact, it’s still in development and it’s not ready for the general public, but from the same sheet you can also learn in detail how it will work, if and when it will be open to everyone. However, the way it’s structured, it really looks like it’s an app that’s destined to stay and not disappear like many other previous Google experiments. Here’s how Google Task works and how to use it to earn real money. If you want to find a full-time job, you can read our guide on how to find a job with Google.
How Google Task Mate works
Task Mate is an app that allows you to earn money in three simple steps: the first is to search for a task, that is, a task to be completed; the second step is to perform the task; the third step is to collect the reward.
The reward is in local currency and is credited to a bank account that you must indicate during registration. It is possible to accumulate credit from multiple tasks before asking for it to be paid into the account, but you must accumulate at least $10 before asking for it. Once you receive the money on your bank account you can spend it as you like and without any constraints.
What you need to do to earn with Google Task Mate
The heart of the platform, then, are the tasks to be performed to earn money. The tasks can be of two types: those to be done at home and those “in the field”.
The former are tasks such as translating sentences, pronouncing words in a certain language or answering a survey, while the latter are tasks such as going somewhere to take a picture of a restaurant and then uploading it through the app.
Once the task is completed, we will receive an evaluation from the person who requested it and, if it is positive, we will collect the sum promised. The more tasks we get approved for, the higher our ranking will go up, which can make us a reliable “tasker” when more people agree to do the same task and the person who requested it has to choose who to give it to.
Who assigns tasks (and who pays users)
Google says that tasks are “published by companies all over the world”, without specifying how those companies can request a task and pay for it. The hypotheses are basically two: either through a “business” profile on the app itself, or through the Google My Business account.
It is certain, however, that some tasks can be assigned by Google itself, which can send someone to take a picture of a shop window to insert it in Maps or Street View. Among the payers, therefore, there will also be Big G and not only small and large businesses. It is not specified, finally, if Google retains a commission on each payment made by companies.
How much you can earn with Google Task Mate
At this point the question arises spontaneously: how much do you earn to “do the jobs” for Google and its customers? Of course, the remuneration depends on the task and on who assigns it, but an example is already there among the images published by Google in the Task Mate tab on the Play Store.
In that image you can see the task of going to take a picture of a shop window, a five-minute walk away from the user. The tab states that the task was requested by Task Mate, i.e. Google itself, and the remuneration is 25 cents. The translation of ten sentences, instead, is paid 50 cents.
