How to delete all Facebook posts in bulk

Do you want to delete a bunch of content you’ve posted on the social network? Here are the useful procedures to follow from both the app and the web version

It may have happened to many to regret a piece of content published on social and delete it shortly after, but what happens when you want to delete all Facebook posts in bulk? The platform fortunately offers a quick and easy procedure to make a clean slate and start from scratch.

The reasons that drive people to gestures of this type are really many, for example there is a large segment of the public who wanted to delete content after the Cambridge Analytica scandal and increase levels of online privacy. Others, on the other hand, want to keep only certain information. Surely checking every single Like, comment and content posted in previous years is exhausting, so the best solution is to delete them all without distinction. You can achieve the goal in a few steps, either from the Facebook app available for iOS and Android or from the web version for computers.

Deleting Facebook posts: how to bulk delete them from smartphones

The procedure is similar in both operating systems, so just launch the app from any device and get started. After logging into your profile, you have to tap the button with three horizontal dots placed next to the “Add Story” button. We will then be in the Profile Settings.

From here we need to access the Activity Log and then on Manage Activity. A pop-up will open up showing the words “Your Posts”. Tapping on that item will take you right to the section that collects all your content, from the date of registration to the present. At this point you can select individually the posts you want to delete: just check them individually and then tap on “Archive” or “Trash”. In the first case, the contents will not be destroyed but kept in an archive visible only to the user, from where they can be restored at a later time. While if you put the posts in the trash, they will remain in this space for 30 days, then they will be deleted automatically.

There is also the possibility to filter the contents, by touching the Filter button that will allow you to choose the category, the date or the person. By going to date you can select the reference period. It is not possible to filter by date posts containing a tag of the user, which can be deleted or archived only by the person who posted them, photos that are part of an album, including those in shared albums, and Stories, which are automatically archived 24 hours after publication.

Selecting the reference period will then show the posts to be deleted, from here you can select all of them and proceed to trash them.

How to delete old Facebook posts from computer

The procedure from the web is very similar. Again, you need to log in to Facebook and then to your profile. Here, the button with three horizontal dots is located next to the magnifying glass. After clicking the button, a pop-up will open with two entries, Journal Settings and Activity Log. Of course, you have to click the second item to access the archive of all the activities performed on the channel, including comments and Likes. Again, you can filter content by period. To do so, you need to select the Filter item and then the year and month of reference. All posts published in the chosen period will appear, at this point you can delete them by selecting all or individually.
