What are the features that an electric scooter must have? How long should the battery last? What is the price of an electric scooter? Here’s the answer to your questions
On the bike paths and on the roads of our cities they are becoming more and more frequent and are becoming the symbol of the green revolution that is also taking hold in Italy. What are we talking about? The electric scooters, one of the many vehicles for personal mobility that are very fashionable in recent years.
As well as electric bikes and bicycles with pedal assistance, the scooters are having great success among young people and among workers, especially in large cities where the kilometers dedicated to bike paths are many more. The advantages of using an electric scooter are there for all to see: small size, zero emissions, ease in getting around in city traffic, minimal effort. The sector is growing more and more, as more and more are the companies that are bringing in Italy their models.
Choosing the electric scooter to buy has become increasingly complicated. What is the best model? What are the features to take into account? And most importantly, how much does an electric scooter cost? In this article we will try to give an answer to all questions.
The characteristics of an electric scooter
The small size can be misleading: electric scooters are not as simple means of transport as they may seem. There are more than one features to consider when buying an electric scooter and they go beyond just battery life.
So don’t worry about choosing the model that guarantees the best performance or that goes faster: the limit imposed is 25 km/h.
How long does the battery of an electric scooter last
Limited size, limited autonomy. This assumption also applies to electric scooters. In most models, the range does not exceed 20-25km / h, so you can use it for about an hour without interruption. The autonomy, logically, also varies depending on the route and the speed you decide to keep. If we face a descent, it does not consume much battery. Other factors that affect the battery life of a scooter are the weight of the person and the driving style.
What wheels to choose for the electric scooter
Many people underestimate them, but the tires play a key role in the choice of electric scooter. Since they are very small, they are prone to puncture and replacing them is not easy.
Esistono principalmente tre tipi:
- Ruote piene
- Ruote gonfiabili (simili ai pneumatici delle auto)
- Ruote in gomma siliconica.
Silicone rubber wheels are the perfect alternative to the two previous types.
The price of an electric scooter
In comparison with an electric bike or with pedal assistance, an electric scooter has a lower price, and not just a little. To buy a model that ensures excellent performance and also a good autonomy you need to spend about 300-400 euros. Logically there are models available with a lower and higher price: the important thing is to know what you need and how much is your budget. If you are looking for an electric scooter to use to go to work, it is useless to spend exaggerated figures for a means that is used at most for thirty to forty minutes a day.
