The social media is updating its algorithms and will allow you to insert songs in Stories, here’s how to use the new music stickers feature
Writes, photos, videos and even stickers. In the Stories of Instagram we can really insert everything we most want to personalize and make fun a shot. And soon on the social media we will also be able to add music.
Judging from a piece of code found within the Instagram app for Android, users will soon be able to insert songs within the Stories. There won’t be any copyright issues since Facebook has recently made numerous agreements with various record companies. The new “music stickers” feature will work in two ways. We will be able to add a song by choosing from a predefined list, a bit like what happens now with GIFs; if, however, we are listening to a piece of music while recording a video or taking a photo for a Story, Instagram will recognize it and will automatically insert a label with the name of the artist and the title of the song.
Instagram introduces music stickers
Thanks to the new music stickers we will be able to recreate MTV-style videos or make our Stories more interesting, especially on vacation and at the beach. According to someone, the move of Instagram aims to counter some very popular apps at the moment especially among the younger generation, such as Musical.ly. The choice of music stickers could also turn the social media for photos into a small search engine for new trending songs.
How to use music stickers
Adding music on Instagram Stories will be really easy. We’ll just take a photo or video and then swipe up to open the section usually dedicated to stickers and emoji. At this point in the search bar at the top we will also find the words Search Music. The songs will be divided into three large navigable categories: Moods, Genres and Trends. At the moment, however, the whole function is in the testing phase and therefore before the official launch to all users it could be deeply modified. How will a song be inserted in the History? This is the big unresolved question. According to many at the beginning the app will only allow us to share a small clip of the video of the chosen song. But it’s also possible that the song will be reduced to a clickable label and added to one of our videos or photos. If the way was the latter we will be able thanks to our friends or the most followed influencers to discover new songs. Sound familiar? Yes it is more or less the return of MySpace.
