The Night Light feature, introduced with Windows 10 Creators Update, allows you to change the colors of the screen to not strain your eyes too much.
After a long wait, thanks to the Windows 10 Creators Update, the Night Light feature has arrived. For those who do not know it, this is a specific mode, to be set in certain light conditions and at night of the day, to avoid straining your eyes too much with the blue color on your screen.
As we have repeatedly reminded the use of the computer, and in general of an electronic device, at night and just before going to bed can create several problems for the view and the quality of our sleep. The Night Light function has the task of filtering the blue lights and decreasing the impact of the screen on our eyes to avoid straining them too much. Setting it up on computers with the latest version of the Microsoft operating system is very simple and takes just a few seconds. The feature can be set with one click directly from the Quick Actions item on the taskbar.
How to set the Night Light feature
If you can’t find the feature in the Quick Actions then you need to look for it. Again, this is all very easy. Look for Notifications and Actions in the taskbar. When we open the settings page we will see a box with all the quick actions. Underneath the pane we’ll notice the words “Add or remove quick actions”. Let’s click on this item. At this point a new page will open where we can choose which function to add, now we only need to tick the Night Light checkbox.
How to configure Night Light
The Night Light function offers many different options that can be set to make the best use of the PC. For example, we can decide to automatically activate the mode according to the sunrise and sunset of our time zone. If we set this feature, we’ll have to authorize the function to check our position in order to know the exact time of sunrise and sunset at various times of the year in our area. Obviously the function can also be set manually and the warmth of the various colors on the screen can be adjusted according to your preferences. Be careful, however, sometimes we tend to choose too bright colors that in the long run tire the eyes.
