Two different philosophies. Two different lifestyles. Two different companies. But which have never been so close. Apple and Google (together with Microsoft) are the great protagonists of hi-tech: if until now Big G had never invested heavily in the smartphone market, with the launch of Pixel throws down the gauntlet to Apple.
Two extremely interesting smartphones (the best available on the market), with features that can not be out of the top range. But with different features, starting, logically, from the operating system: on the one hand Android, with its open code and the possibility for each company to customize it according to their needs, on the other iOS, used exclusively by the Cupertino company but offering the best optimization between software and hardware available on the market at the moment. And Google has focused on Android’s optimization to beat Apple on its own ground.
For the Mountain View company, Pixel and Pixel XL are a real challenge, the first smartphones designed and developed entirely in Google’s labs. The Nexus series, which however had given some satisfaction to Big G, has been retired to make way for Pixel. A brave choice that shows the growing interest of all hi-tech companies in smartphones: no longer just smart phones, but real personal assistants able to help users 24 hours a day. And for this reason Big G has also launched Google Assistant, the new artificial intelligence that will go Google Now. Google Assistant versus Siri is just one of the many challenges within the larger battle between two companies and two completely different ways of doing things. With Pixel Google has openly challenged Apple and its iPhone, will it be able to bring the victory home? Let’s find out together.
Pixel vs iPhone 7: the design
(Taken from YouTube)
Let’s start with the design and start talking about the construction materials. Both smartphones feature premium finishes and it couldn’t be otherwise and the materials are of excellent quality. The first big difference is the design: while Google was the first real time that it ventured into this field, Apple, however, has years and years of experience and the design of the iPhone 7 is the proof. In fact, the design of the applephone is very similar to that of the last generation, following the groove now traced by the iPhone 6. The smartphone is very beautiful and also ergonomic. As for Pixel, however, Google has developed it from scratch and the results are not bad at all, even if the lines are a bit ‘too much reminiscent of Apple Phone. The fingerprint sensor is located at the back and can also be used for Android Pay. The iPhone 7, on the other hand, features the Home button (which has undergone a makeover) at the front and also integrates the Touch ID system, as well as calling up the personal assistant Siri in times of need.
One of the great innovations of the iPhone that differentiates it significantly from Pixel is the IP67 certification that ensures the smartphone is water resistant for up to 30 minutes. Pixel has only received a 53 certification that ensures complete dust resistance. On the connectivity front, however, Pixel integrates a USB type-c and a 3.5mm audio jack, while the iPhone 7 differs by removing the audio jack and leaving only the Lightning output. A great revolution that developed by the Cupertino company that has removed the audio connector to make more room for the hardware and to improve the sound quality.
Pixel vs iPhone 7: the display
(Taken from YouTube)
If only 0.5 inches of difference seems little to you, for a smartphone it is not so.
Pixel vs iPhone 7: sistemi operativi

Big G has tried to solve all the problems with the new Android Nougat 7.1 version, trying to optimize the smartphone as best as possible. And from the first reviews it seems that Google has hit the jackpot by presenting the best version of Android ever.
Pixel vs iPhone 7: technical specifications
Two quad-core processors compared: on one side a Snapdragon 821 with a power of 2.15 GHz supported by 4GB of RAM, on the other an A10 Fusion chip with a power of 2.35 GHz. Apple assures that it is the most powerful processor it has ever produced and the results of some benchmark sites seem to prove him right. On the other hand Google relies on Qualcomm’s experience and adopts the updated version of the Snapdragon 820 that promises 10% more power and lower battery consumption.

The Google smartphone has surprised everyone and has presented the best camera on the market, at least according to the comparison made by DxOMark, a website specializing in the analysis and comparison of cameras.
And analyzing the characteristics of the two photo compartments, the iPhone 7 offers a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 7-megapixel front camera ideal for making video calls with Facetime. Pixel has a 12.3-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera.
Pixel vs iPhone 7: Google Assistant vs Siri
Until now Siri has been unrivaled, but things seem to have changed. If in the field of personal assistants Apple has always been able to lead the way thanks to the responsiveness and accuracy of Siri, Big G in the last event presented, along with Pixel, its latest creation: Google Assistant.

Despite using a smaller 1960 mAh battery, the Cupertino smartphone, thanks to work on software optimization manages to consume less power and get through the day without any kind of problem. Google, on the other hand, had to work a lot. Android smartphones are certainly not famous for battery life and Mountain View engineers have done a great job on the software. Pixel mounts a battery of 2770 mAh and ensure from Google Labs that the smartphone arrives at the end of the day. In addition, the Google Phone, thanks to Quick Charge 3.0 charging ensures seven hours of use with just 15 minutes of charging, a feature that the iPhone 7 still lacks.
Pixel vs iPhone 7: prices and memory
Google has launched Pixel with two different memory sizes: one 32GB and the other 128GB, while the iPhone 7 has three versions: 32GB, 128GB and 256GB.
On the price front, the two smartphones are more or less on the same level: the iPhone 7 starts from a minimum of 799 euros for the 32GB version, up to a maximum of 1019 euros for the 256GB cut (the 128GB model, on the other hand, costs 909 euros). For the price of the Google Pixel, however, you need to take as a reference those of the German Google Store, since the smartphone will not arrive in Italy before 2017: the version with 32GB of storage is available at 759 euros, while the 128GB model requires 869 euros.
Final Verdict
Now you may be wondering which of the two smartphones is better? The choice is not easy, the two smartphones are very similar and are the best that the market offers along with the Samsung S7. The reasons to choose one or the other are the most diverse, and to direct the final decision could be the size of the screen. A small difference of 0.5 inches can make all the difference: if you love smartphones with a slightly more generous size then the only possible choice is the Google Pixel, instead, in case you prefer a smartphone that can be put quietly in your pocket, then the decision falls on the iPhone 7. The only thing that is certain is that it is a good choice.
