Google opens a store in New York for the launch of Pixel and Pixel XL

On October 20, sales of Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones will begin in the United States and Google will take the opportunity to open a store in Manhattan

After Apple and Microsoft, Google will open a single-brand store in the famous Soho district, on Spring Street, just a stone’s throw from Broadway. It will not be, however, a traditional store but a “pop up” store, i.e. temporary, where to sell all the new #madebygoogle products.

It is a solution that Google had already experimented in 2014 on the occasion of the launch of Google Glass in temporary locations in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco – and later also in London – to offer potential customers the opportunity to take a close look at its virtual glasses, to try them and eventually buy them. An experiment that must have worked great if it is repeated now for the new Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones and the other products announced last October 4 in an endless event plan of news.

How long will the Google Store remain openĀ

Google has not provided any information about it: it could be days or a few weeks. Much depends on the turnout of public, and especially of buyers, that will receive the store. Among other things, the official website of the initiative, popup.withgoogle.com/nyc, suggests that the pop-up store in New York City could be followed by others, as was already the case for Google Glass. But there is also a second hypothesis, less “temporary”, but still to be confirmed. Google, in the wake of the example and success of Apple Stores, could decide to open real proprietary stores without, however, give up the traditional channels of online sales. Exactly like the Cupertino company.
