Finding a parking space in large cities congested with traffic, but also in those a little less chaotic, is almost like winning a lottery. With the new function of Google Maps becomes much easier to find parking, even in the most chaotic areas.
The function was introduced in the update of Google Maps arrived at version 9.49 currently in beta test, but even just know that we in the (hopefully) near future we can take advantage is great news. The maps work as always, but – according to those who have already had the opportunity to use them – after indicating the location to be reached, an icon appears that informs about the type of parking available in that area divided into three categories – “easy”, “medium” and “limited” – based on reports from those who are, at that moment, in that area.
How to find parking with Google Maps
We go from a “P” followed by the indication “Limited” which – as the name suggests – is absolutely the most critical situation and suggests parking not exactly in the area of our “desires”, but a little further away, and then continue on foot or take public transport. At least, however, we know how to behave without losing too much. Diametrically opposite is the “easy” indication that makes us understand that finding a parking space where we are going will be absolutely no problem. Tra i due estremi c’è giustamente “medium” che sembra consigliare: “tu prova pure, sicuramente un parcheggio lo troverai, ma forse ci sarà da aspettare un po’. Quando si libera un posticino, ti avverto”. Google ha riferito sul suo blog ufficiale che i primi a usufruire di quest’utilissima funzione saranno 25 città degli Stati Uniti (San Francisco, Seattle, Miami, Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minneapolis/St. Paul, New York City, Orlando, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, San Diego, St. Louis, Tampa, Washington, DC, Cleveland, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Houston, Phoenix, Portland e Sacramento), poi si spera che la funzione sia diffusa a livello globale, almeno nelle principali città del mondo.

Come scoprire dove si è parcheggiato l’auto
La funzione trova-parcheggio, però, non è la sola novità della release 9.49. Google ha pensato bene anche di aggiungere la possibilità di memorizzare anche dove abbiamo parcheggiato la nostra auto. Basterà un touch su un pallino blu sulla mappa per essere guidati alle nostre quattro o, magari, due ruote. Google Maps, inoltre, permetterà anche di inserire alcune informazioni come, per esempio, il piano del parcheggio e la lettera che indica il settore, scattare una foto, oltre a segnare l’eventuale orario di scadenza del parchimetro in modo da non rischiare di pagare una multa evitabile.
