Prima di dire basta al caricamento illimitato gratuito su Google Foto, Big G introduce una novità che consentirà di gestire, in maniera mirata seppur semplice anche senza particolare esperienza informatica, lo spazio utente. You can therefore get rid of those files that occupy megabytes on megabytes, avoiding unnecessary saturation of the cloud made available.
As many already know, from June 1 Google Photos will change skin going to remove one of the features that, over time, had become a cornerstone of the use of the cloud of Mountain View. Knowing that at first it was allowed an endless upload of jpgs (or similar formats) in normal quality and only 15 GB for high-resolution photographs, with the update of the service we’ll have to say goodbye to non-stop storage because the limit will be extended to any type of image, regardless of definition. In order to increase the capacity, according to pre-established limits, it will be necessary to subscribe to a paid subscription, as already done by users who, for personal need or choice, decide to exceed this threshold.
Google Photos, how the tool for image management works
The tool provided by Google Photos to keep under control your cloud acts exclusively on certain types of uploads. Once activated, it detects the presence of any blurred shots, screen snapshots and videos of too large a size that saturate the archive. So it becomes easier to make a selection of documents to be trashed, avoiding the eventuality of having to scroll through thousands of photos to view one by one
It should be noted that all uploads made from today until June 1 (date on which the new Google Photos formula will be in operation) will not be included in the calculation of 15GB, even after the day indicated. The calculation, in fact, will involve only what will be uploaded from the beginning of next month onwards.
Google Photos, tools and prices
Among the tools, Mountain View will introduce the use of an indicator capable of estimating the space occupied, allowing you to wisely assess the need for storage to buy for the future. Google One, this is the name of the program that allows to expand the amount of gigs, starts from the price of 1.99 euros per month or 19.99 euros per year for 100 GB, 2.99 euros/month or 29.99 euros/year for 200 GB and 9.99 euros/month or 99.99 euros/year for 2 TB.
Different, however, is the fate of owners of Pixel smartphones, the line launched by Big G: those who have purchased the device, from the first launched in 2016 until Pixel 5, can take advantage of unlimited backups forever (or unless a counterorder). As for photos, the offer is only running for phones from Pixel 3 and up; for version 3, support will end as early as January 1, 2022 (and after that, it will have to pay, for high photo quality, on par with other users).
