There are two new laptops made by Samsung ready to be launched on the market in the coming weeks. This is the Galaxy Book Go series that includes the eponymous model and its counterpart in 5G version, both equipped with CPU targata Qualcomm Snapdragon instead of the proprietary processor Exynos.
With the two laptops, which go alongside the recent Galaxy Book and Galaxy Book Pro, Samsung adds as many elements to the Galaxy line that already sees among its ranks smartphones, tablets and several wearables all belonging to the same wide smart ecosystem. These are, for price and performance, two models that will compete with the Chromebook of other manufacturers but, unlike the latter, will rely on Windows 10 (ARM Edition) as the operating system. Born from a design carried out in collaboration with Qualcomm, these laptops focus on a practical and refined design, with silver finish and a battery that promises a long life throughout the time of use. Just the accumulator can count on a useful feature, namely that of fast charging to 25W to never have to give up the device even in times of greatest need.
Galaxy Book Go, technical specifications
There are many features in common between the models of the Galaxy Book Go series, starting from the manufacturer of the processor. However, the type changes: if for the basic Samsung has chosen a Snapdragon 7c second generation, for the one with 5G connectivity the choice fell on a Snapdragon 8cx, also second generation.
As for the combination RAM and storage space, the available cuts provide 4GB and 8GB for the first and 64GB and 128GB for the second, eUFS type. Returning instead to the mode of connection to the network, Galaxy Book Go can rely on Wi-Fi and the optional LTE protocol, unlike its variant that counts on the even faster system represented by 5G.
All two laptops weigh 1.38 kg, with a 14-inch LCD display and a thickness of 1.49 cm. With Dolby Atmos speakers, two USB Type-C ports, one USB 2.0 and 3.5mm minijack connector for wired earphones or headphones and microphone, as well as a 720p HD camera, the laptops prove useful for those looking for a young, lightweight product to use for daily work, study or leisure tasks.
Galaxy Book Go, prices and launch dates
On prices and launch dates, Samsung has so far revealed exclusively that in relation to the Wi-Fi model and additional LTE connectivity. Galaxy Book Go, according to what has been confirmed by the manufacturer, will be available for purchase from June 10, in selected markets, at a price of 349 dollars, about 286 euros.
About Galaxy Book Go 5G we will have to wait until the second half of the year, when more information will be released. The Galaxy Book Go will feature Samsung Care+ supplemental care, which can be purchased separately to cover accidental damage, repairs and more.
