For the next edition of Fifa, Electronics Arts is working to bring juicy news regarding gameplay and graphic details
For years it has been considered the best sports simulation available for consoles and personal computers. We are talking about FIFA, the video game developed by Electronic Arts that every year is a great success with millions of copies sold worldwide.
With the arrival of the new year, the first information about the changes that the American company would like to make to the video game is starting to leak out. After the great changes of Fifa 17, which adopted a new graphics engine (the Frostbite instead of Ignite) and introduced the My Journey mode that allows you to address the career of a player starting from the youth leagues, Fifa 18 is called to confirm the progress made by the series. For this reason Electronic Arts is working to arrive prepared for the release scheduled as always for mid-September. Let’s see together the main innovations that await us in Fifa 18.
More precision in graphic details
The graphics engine used will be the same as Fifa 17, the Frostbite 4. But after a first year of apprenticeship it can be assumed that Electronic Arts is ready to exploit the full potential of the graphics engine. The work will focus mainly on graphical details, with greater care in the realization of the facilities and the so-called “secondary” players. In addition, new animations will be introduced regarding the passes, the running and the contrasts of the players.
The cover man? Cristiano Ronaldo
After choosing Marco Reus as the cover image of Fifa 17, Electronic Arts is called to respond to the challenge launched by PES 2017, which has chosen Lionel Messi as its cover man. So it is very likely that on the cover of Fifa 18 we will see Cristiano Ronaldo that in the last season has racked up awards managing to win the Champions League, the European Championship with Portugal, the World Club Championship and the Ballon d’Or. The Real Madrid player would be the best choice to present Fifa 18 in the best possible way.
My Journey
The new mode My Journey has definitely been one of the positive surprises of the last edition of the video game, so we expect to see some big news in Fifa 18. My Trip shows all the errors of inexperience, a year of work more can only improve the product. Some news is expected especially with regard to the gameplay, with some action played more and some film clips less.
Virtual Reality
Many are talking about it, but no one has yet had the courage to introduce virtual reality in football simulation. Fifa 18 could be the first soccer video game that supports VR and developed specifically for the PlayStation VR, the visor developed by Sony for gamers.
Women’s soccer
After the introduction of the women’s national teams in the 2016 edition, no significant changes were made to women’s soccer in Fifa 2017. In Fifa 2018, Electronic Arts should return to give more space to women, also introducing club teams to give more prominence to the movement.
Fifa 18 release
As every year, the video game should be officially presented during E3, the international trade show dedicated to video games and be launched on the market in mid-September.
