EA servers down today, what we know so far

Since 8am on April 22, thousands of users around the world are complaining about several malfunctions on Electronic Arts servers. Here’s what we know

With the weather forecast not exactly optimal, were you thinking of spending Easter Monday with your friends playing one of the many titles developed by Electronic Arts? I’m sorry for you, but you may be forced to revise your plans. Since eight o’clock this morning, in fact, the servers of the U.S. developer (and its streaming game service Origin, in addition to Battlefield 1, Apex Legends and Fifa) are unreachable.

Despite the holiday, since the very first hours of the day have come hundreds of reports on EA server down today.

In spite of the public holiday, hundreds of reports on EA servers down today have been received since the early hours of the day. The problem, as mentioned, affects the entire galaxy of games and services of the developer stars and stripes: in addition to the game servers, in fact, are also unreachable those of Fifa 19 down, those of Apex Legends and those of Battlefield 1.

Electronic Arts down today, what’s going on

Probably, you’ve noticed the malfunction that has affected the infrastructure of the U.S. manufacturer because the connection to Fifa servers is interrupted and you can no longer play with your friends. As we said above, the problem is probably more serious than you might think. The malfunction, in fact, also affects the official Electronic Arts portal that, on some occasions, fails to load the page requested by the user.

Specifically, browsing the EA site from your browser you may encounter a error 504: this is an error at the infrastructure level concerning the server architecture. When the browser returns the error 504 it means that the communications between the PC and the servers containing the requested web resources are particularly slow. And, in order not to waste any more time, the browser interrupts the communication returning, precisely, an error 504.

Probably, the same problem that afflicts EA website also affects the game servers, whose response arrives too late or does not arrive at all. In all likelihood, the US developer’s technicians are already working to fix the malfunction, but at the moment it’s impossible to predict when you’ll be able to play again.
