Doctor Who is preparing to say goodbye to the Doctor played by Jodie Whittaker with three special events: when it arrives and where to watch the New Year’s one
The thirteenth season of Doctor Who has seen in the role of the Doctor the actress Jodie Whittaker, who is now preparing to say goodbye to her character. As with the other Doctors, Whittaker will also be featured in special episodes and the first one is coming soon.
The official trailer for Eve of the Daleks, Doctor Who’s first special event, has been released by the BBC and will follow the tradition of the television series. The first of the three specials will arrive next January 1 and will mark the real conclusion of the thirteenth season, waiting for the arrival of a new actor to play the role of the Doctor. The second and third special events will arrive in the spring and fall of 2022, and it will be in the latter that the Doctor will regenerate, showing the face of the new protagonist. Meanwhile, we just have to wait to see the adventures that Whittaker and the other characters played by Aisling Bea and Adjani Salmon will have to face with the new year.
Eve of the Daleks: the plot
The new story that is part of Eve of the Daleks is set in the ELF warehouse, whose owner is Sarah. The Doctor and Nick will find themselves on New Year’s Eve at the store, but something will go wrong: there will be an attack by a Dalek, a dangerous killer robot created by the humanoid scientist Davros who lives on the planet Skaro.
The Doctor along with Nick and companions Yaz and Dan will have to deal with the dangerous killer robot as they find themselves stuck in a time loop. A situation that is anything but easy and will keep fans on edge until the end of the episode.
Eve of the Daleks: the cast
The Doctor will once again have the face of Jodie Whittaker, while Nick is played by Adjani Salmon and Sarah by Aisling Bea. Companions Yaz and Dan are actors Mandip Gill and John Bishop, respectively.
Chris Chibnall, showrunner of the Doctor Who series, commented, “We all need a little romance in our lives on New Year’s Eve, a little less than the Daleks. Aisling Bea and Adjani Salmon’s characters will be facing one hell of a New Year’s Eve. Along with Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor, we hope they turn out to be the perfect company for the first day of the year.”
Eve of the Daleks: when and where to see it
The first special episode of Eve of the Daleks will arrive right on January 1, 2022 and will be broadcast by the BBC. Then the second and third episodes of the special are expected in the spring and fall. In the last episode we will see the Doctor regenerate, but it is not yet known the name of who will play the role of the next Doctor Who in season 14.
