Disney+, unveiled the price and features of the anti Netflix

With a Disney+ subscription you will be able to use up to four devices at once with UltraHD resolution. Price of $6.99 per month

The D23 Expo, the most awaited convention for Disney fans, ended in California. The U.S. company has shown a series of announcements and previews, along with many news that we will see soon on the small and big screen. Many films, TV series and cartoons were announced, from the imminent arrival of the third and final chapter of the Star Wars trilogy “The Rise of Skywalker”, to the Marvel universe with the confirmation of the release of new features dedicated to Black Panther and Black Widow, as well as some remakes of famous Disney hits such as “101” and new Pixar products.

But the D23 Expo was also an opportunity to discover more details about the new on-demand streaming service Disney+. The streaming platform will officially debut on November 12 in the U.S., Canada and the Netherlands and will then arrive in Australia and New Zealand a week later, on November 19.

Disney+: features announced

Video streaming will be in ultraHD with HDR in HDR10 and Dolby Vision formats, while audio will be able to make use of Dolby Atmos technology, at least for some content. The home of Disney + will open with a large central banner that will show in rotation all the main news offered by the platform with the ability to browse the catalog divided into thematic categories. A catalog that will include more than 500 films and over 7,500 episodes of TV series, including original productions, many of which are currently in production and collected in the special section called “Originals”.

Each piece of content will have a card that includes a synopsis, extras and other related titles. At launch, all content on the platform will be translated into English, Spanish, French and Dutch, which are also available for dubbing and subtitles. Finally, there will also be the audio-description and an assistant dedicated to navigation within the user interface.

Disney+: subscription and costs

Until now the battle between the big streaming giants has been fought to the sound of content and juicy exclusives, but to change the cards on the table we thought Disney itself by offering Ultra HD, HDR, Dolby Atmos and the vision on 4 devices simultaneously at a price of $ 6.99 per month (6.99 euros in the Netherlands). The Disney+ subscription will allow the creation of up to 7 different profiles for each account on 4 registered devices at the same time, more or less what is offered with the Premium plan by Netflix but paying, again in the US, $15.99.

Unlike Netflix, the Disney+ mobile app will allow unlimited downloads on up to 10 products with users free to download content multiple times throughout the year without any sort of block or limitation. In addition, it will be possible to start watching a piece of content on one device and then continue viewing on another, picking up exactly where the streaming left off.
