EA wants to follow Capcom’s example and replicate the success of the Resident Evil remakes with Dead Space 4: according to rumors it’s already in development
EA hasn’t spoken yet and probably won’t for long, but the news is the result of a cross-over from several credible sources: Dead Space 4 would be in development, and at the same time Motive developers would be working on a remake from the original title.
The rumors excite, and just not to be disappointed should be taken not only with the pliers but also with gloves. The men of Motive Studios, it seems, are inspiring their remake to the work done by Capcom, which has shown in a rather clear way to know how to do with the remakes for Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. Consequently, for the remake of Dead Space 4 would intervene on the adjustment of the graphics engine to current standards, but also on a selection of aspects that regulate the gaming experience, pushing on the most popular by fans and modifying or directly eliminating those who instead have worked less.
EA is inspired by Capcom’s remakes
To get a credible idea of the work that Motive intends to do on the remake of Dead Space 4, say the well-informed, you have to take as reference Resident Evil 3 released last year. Capcom has eliminated the elements that had worked less over the years, including content, characters and game modes, while on the contrary has worked hard on the elements historically most appreciated, trying to improve them and put them at the center of the economy of the game.
In Resident Evil pre 2000 for example the last two clashes with Nemesis were too similar to the previous ones, so they lacked “personality”, and generally showed to be too little challenging for an opponent that after all should have been terrible and threatening.
With the title of last year, Capcom has shown to have intervened on this aspect, said between the lines to have analyzed and understood the critical issues and aspects to be improved, including precisely the final clashes, made much more epic and memorable. The remake of Dead Space could and should follow the same path, intervening – and this is what they ask several fans of the series – on the decisive clashes that would become more challenging.
Still few clues on the possible date of release
Dead Space 3 has moved away enough from the initial concept, a survival horror single player, the success of the remakes of Resident Evil and Village has not gone unnoticed in the eyes of EA men.
However there is still very little material at present on which to reason to make assumptions about the debut of the remake of Dead Space. It is still too early, in short. But we have little doubt that more news in this sense will come soon.
