Online buying and selling becomes faster and safer
Subito, the platform for selling and buying between individuals used by more than 13 million users in Italy, launches a new service that cancels the distance between seller and buyer, making online buying and selling even faster and safer.
Tuttosubito does not replace the system already in use, but offers a viable alternative to those who prefer to avoid hand picking, providing guarantees to both parties on payment and shipping. In this way, the process is streamlined and it becomes possible to buy safely from sellers in distant cities.
This innovative service is part of a context that is seeing an increase in the number of second-hand purchases online. In fact, according to BVA Doxa’s Second Hand Economy Observatory, in 2020 one in two Italians bought or sold used items and 63% of those who did so chose the online channel. This trend concerned especially specific categories such as graduates, Generation Z and families with young children.
How Tuttosubito works
The contact between seller and buyer can take place through a chat integrated in the app, which can be activated through the “Buy” button. At this stage, the parties can agree on the price, exchange information and manage the shipment without sharing sensitive personal data.
The payment is made directly on Tuttosubito, which acts as an intermediary and credits the amount once the shipment has been completed.
The shipment, thanks to the partnership with companies such as Poste Italiane, can be made at home or at collection points throughout Italy.
Finally, an integrated system of ratings and reviews allows to reward reliable users.
Security
Security is one of Tuttosubito’s strong points, as it acts as an intermediary between the seller and the buyer, protecting both of them.
First of all, the service does not require the exchange of sensitive personal data such as telephone number or bank account details because it works as a point of contact with both parties.
Tuttosubito also acts as a guarantor for the payment, in fact it withholds the money and deposits it only after the collection has taken place. In this way it protects both the seller and the buyer: one is sure to receive the payment, the other to receive the purchased item.
This system of Purchase Protection does not provide additional costs for those who sell, while for those who buy the cost is 4% of the value of the object, with a maximum of 20€.
