Apple Watch, one more year of warranty for battery problems

The Cupertino company has extended another year the warranty of some first generation Apple Watch due to a battery problem

Apple devices and battery do not seem to get along well. After the problems encountered with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s that in some cases has forced the Cupertino company to replace the battery of smartphones, from the U.S. comes the news that even the Apple Watch would suffer from a problem with the battery.

After complaints from some users who had reported an anomaly in their Apple Watch, the company that was Steve Jobs has decided to extend the warranty of smart watches by one year bringing it up to three years. The decision was taken by Apple after analyzing some smartwatches that had the screen raised compared to the normal position. The malfunction was caused by the battery that, probably due to high temperatures, expanded and pushed the screen upwards. The news of the warranty extension was given by the site 9to5Mac, usually always well informed about the news of the Apple world.

Which Apple Watch will have an extra year of warranty

Logically, the problem does not affect all Apple Watch, but only some models of the first generation that mount the same battery. Apple decided to take matters into its own hands after some users had reported the problem on Reddit and on the Cupertino company’s official forums. All Apple Stores will be enabled to change the screen and battery or in the case to directly replace the smartwatch. Apple will continue to monitor the situation to see if other wearables have the same problem. In the meantime, some first-generation Apple Watch will have the warranty extended up to three years.
