To share the name of a WiFi network and its password there are two methods, one uncomfortable and one comfortable: here’s the comfortable one.
How many times have we gone to a hotel, b&b or simply to a friend’s house and found a Wi-Fi network that we could use to surf, but of which we don’t know the connection parameters? In such cases, we usually look for the Wi-Fi router: somewhere, usually under the device, there is a sticker with the name of the network and the password.
But it is not always easy to find the Wi-Fi router, especially in tourist facilities, and for sure this procedure is not at all convenient. Luckily, though, there is a much simpler and faster way to share the network name and password of the Wi-Fi with someone else: a standard QR Code.
Wi-Fi QR: come fare
With this smartphone, just open the camera app and frame the QR code shown on the screen of the first smartphone.
The camera app will recognize that it is a QR code, read it and show us a button to press to capture the connection data. In a few seconds this smartphone will be connected to the same network.
The alternative
It is possible, especially on very old or outdated smartphones, that the camera app does not recognize the QR and, as a result, the procedure just described does not work and leads to nothing. Even in this case there is an easy solution.
If this method doesn’t work you can in fact solve it by downloading the Google Lens app and framing the QR code with the camera of the Google app. Lens will recognize the QR and allow us to complete the network parameter sharing.
