To improve the performance of your Android smartphone there are several tricks you can’t miss: here are some
If you have an Android smartphone, there are tricks to improve its performance and get the best user experience. From deactivating bloatware apps, which are pre-installed by the manufacturer that you may not know you have, to optimizing notifications and brightness for longer battery life.
Not everyone knows the term bloatware, which refers to the apps preloaded on your Android smartphone that you often don’t use and that especially can’t be deleted when you want more space in your device’s memory. Even though you can’t uninstall these apps, Android allows the user to disable them, thus freeing up precious memory. Then, to improve battery performance, you can disable automatic brightness, adapting it to your needs. Finally, among the most common tricks to improve your smartphone, you can disable unnecessary notifications or get the best out of widgets.
Disable pre-loaded apps
You need to free up memory in your Android smartphone and would like to uninstall that app you found already installed by the manufacturer and never used. To your bitter surprise, you might find that you can’t do that because it is part of the bloatware apps. Even if you have to keep it, you can always choose an option to use as little memory as possible, that is, deactivate it. To do this you’ll have to go to Settings, then select Apps and a screen will open that presents a list of all the apps you have installed. Choose the one you don’t use, open it and click on Disable.
Disable Auto-Brightness
If you notice dips or increases in brightness while using your Android smartphone that aren’t your choice, you’ve probably turned on Auto-Brightness. This feature adjusts the brightness of the screen according to the environment you are in and is usually a default setting, but it can be turned off. To do so, click on Settings, select Screen or Display, depending on your version of Android, and turn off “Auto-Brightness” mode. Otherwise, by opening the notifications dropdown, you’ll find a button that allows you to turn off the automatic mode and adjust the brightness you prefer.
Manage your notifications
Managing incoming notifications on your smartphone can improve your user experience with Android devices. You can choose to filter notifications from certain apps by turning them off. To do so, simply go to Settings and select Notifications, where a list of the apps installed on your smartphone will open. Select the app whose notifications you want to disable and switch the button to Off. If you’re busy and don’t want to receive any notifications, for example during a business meeting, you can use Do Not Disturb mode, which silences all incoming notifications from your apps for a set period of time. To activate it, go to Settings, Sounds and Vibrations, then select Do Not Disturb and customize which notifications you don’t want to receive and for how long.
Clear up your Quick Settings menu
The drop-down menu on Android smartphones lets you access a number of features on your device by simply swiping from top to bottom. This is a very convenient option that saves you from having to search for the function you want to activate or deactivate each time by going through a longer path. Not everyone knows that the icons that appear in the menu are not predefined, but you can choose which ones to include from a list and arrange them in the most finger-friendly order for your convenience. To rearrange your menu, scroll down and open it, then click on the rectangular pencil icon in the top right corner and holding down on the button whose order you want to change, move it to where you want it.
Make the most of your widgets
One last trick to improve your Android smartphone concerns the use of widgets. The various apps that come pre-installed or that you download to your device may have widgets, which are graphical interfaces that you can use on your phone’s Home screen. Widgets allow you to access information directly from the home screen, enhancing the user experience just like a well-organized drop-down menu. To set them up, press and hold your finger on the Home screen and when the customization window pops up, choose the widget option, press on the one you want to move to the screen and drag it to place it and adjust the size you prefer.
