Of course, there are also improvements “under the hood” introduced by the new version of Android, especially those that concern the management of privacy and security of user data. Then, however, there is the whole user experience typical of OPPO smartphones that is updated and refined to a really high level. The deep optimization and fine-tuning of the Android+ColorOS package is confirmed, finally, by the fact that ColorOS 11 will also arrive on low-powered devices and not only on the top of the range.
ColorOS 11: what’s new
With ColorOS 11 on OPPO smartphones you can customize the device a lot, for example you can choose your own layout for the always-on display, change the Home background, icons and fonts and even choose custom ringtones based on the amount of notifications received.
You can also customize the Dark Mode, with three different shades of gray and black and with the ability to darken the background and icons. Wide customization is also available for the Home widgets, which are now managed via Device Control.
The performance gains of the smartphone come from both Android and ColorOS, however: OPPO claims UI response times up to 32% lower and apps that load faster thanks to a system, managed by artificial intelligence, keeps in memory the apps we use most often.
Battery charging management also improves, and controls over permissions granted to apps become more refined (but here the credit is almost all due to Android 11).
Which smartphones will receive ColorOS 11
ColorOS 11 is currently in beta and will be released soon. The final stable version will arrive starting in December, initially on OPPO Find X2, Find X2 Pro and Find X2 Pro Automobili Lamborghini Edition. In early 2021, it will also arrive on Find X2 Neo and Lite.
Subsequently, in stages, it will arrive on many other OPPO smartphones including low to mid-range: Oppo A91, A72, A52, Reno, Reno 2, Reno 2Z, Reno Z, Reno 10X Zoom, Reno A9 (2020) and Reno A5 (2020).
