Google Pixel 6 will have an exceptional camera

The latest rumors, from very reliable sources, describe the new camera compartment of Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro: we can expect wonders

That Google Pixel phones take great photos, despite having not very modern sensors, is something known for years: thanks to artificial intelligence algorithms developed by Google, in fact, it has always been possible to make the most of these sensors. But with Pixel 6 we will see a huge leap in quality, as confirmed by the data and information on the sensors of the next Pixel communicated by an anonymous source to XDA Developers.

And we’re not just talking about the cameras of Pixel 6 Pro, which is expected to have a price above one thousand euros, but also those of the standard Pixel 6, which should have a more affordable cost. From the data, in fact, for both models emerges a choice, by Google, both quantity and quality: two (three, in Pixel 6 Pro) sensors of excellent quality and high resolution. If already with 12 MP available to the old Pixel took excellent photos, then, what can we expect from the new sensors? Wonders, probably.

Pixel 6: the cameras

According to XDA Developers the Google Pixel 6 will have a 50 MP Samsung ISOCELL GN1 main sensor and a 12 MP Sony IMX386 ultra wide-angle. At the front, however, there will be an 8 MP sensor.

The 50 MP ISOCELL GN1 was unveiled by Samsung in May last year and is a great sensor to pair with refined algorithms, just like Google does. It doesn’t reach extreme resolutions, but it’s very sensitive to light, has excellent dual pixel autofocus and can work even in low light conditions.

Pixel 6 Pro: the cameras

To the two cameras of the regular Pixel 6, the Pro version will add a third: a 48 MP Soni IMX586 sensor with 4X optical zoom. The front camera, on the other hand, will have a 12 MP Sony IMX663 sensor.

Thanks to the third rear sensor, the Pixel 6 Pro will be able to record video at 4K and 60 frames per second, with a hybrid magnification of up to 7X, while dropping to 30 frames per second the magnification can go up to 20X.
