The Chinese company presents its new smartphone with a really interesting price-quality ratio. Xiaomi also launches MIX, the device of the future
It never ceases to amaze. With an event specially organized in Beijing, Xiaomi presented the new Mi Note 2 and the Xiaomi MIX. If the first was already expected, the second was a real surprise.
If on the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 we knew almost everything, the Xiaomi MIX was a real lightning bolt. In recent days were leaked online news about a possible smartphone developed by Xiaomi with a screen that occupied more than 90% of the device, but no one imagined that the Chinese company could present it in the event today. But the real surprise of the Xiaomi MIX is the price, just over 500 euros for a smartphone with features that are currently impossible to find on the market. The red dragon is ready is gaining another important slice of the market.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2: technical characteristics, release, price
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 presents a top-of-the-line hardware: SoC Snapdragon 821 paired with the Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB or 6GB of RAM depending on the model chosen. But the real highlight of the new Chinese smartphone is the screen. In fact, Xiaomi has chosen a 5.7” flexible OLED display that takes up a good 77.2% of the smartphone. For the internal memory, two versions are available: a 64B one and a 128GB one. The photo compartment is also defended great: the rear camera is 22.5 megapixels and uses a Sony IMX318 sensor, while the front one is 8 megapixels.

All this was possible thanks to special technologies developed within Xiaomi labs, including a new front camera 50% smaller and proximity sensors that use ultrasonic communication. The SoC is a Snapdragon 821 supported by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage available in the base version, while the PRO model has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. But the real highlight is the price: 3499 yuan for the 6GB RAM version and 3999 yuan for the 256GB internal storage model (just over 500 euros). A decidedly aggressive choice that puts Xiaomi in a position of advantage over the competition. The smartphone was designed by archistar Philippe Starck and features a ceramic body. We’ll see how this choice by Xiaomi will affect the smartphone industry in the coming months.
