The release date of Redmi K40 and K40 Pro has been confirmed, the official technical specifications are awaited instead but for the top model there are few doubts.
It’s all ready for the launch of Redmi K40 and K40 Pro. It has been revealed the date when the two cheap top of the range of the Chinese company will be available on the market. And, now a few days before the debut scheduled for the end of February, continue to pop up on the network leaks on technical specifications and design that will characterize the smartphone.
As happens not infrequently this time to shed light on the technical characteristics of the two new phones signed Redmi, low cost brand of Xiaomi, were the documents submitted for certification TENAA. If on the site of the body were published data on the camera of the models K40 and K40 Pro, thus revealing some of the crucial points on those that will be in fact the next flagship models of the brand, from the tipster of the network come the information on processors, the pride of the two devices. The latter, however, are not official and can be confirmed or denied.
Redmi K40 Pro, as it will
The flagship of the series, Redmi K40 Pro has on its side a top processor: it is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888, currently the flagship SoC of the American company. To launch the information on Weibo was the well-known tipster Waylab that, for the occasion, has published a snapshot of the screen with some of the data taken – so it would seem – just from the outgoing model.
In addition to the SoC, the smartphone is known that it should mount a 6.81-inch display, with a resolution of 1440×3200 pixels. Available with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM, the K40 Pro would be powered by a 5000mAh battery, a decidedly large capacity.
The last piece of information, of great importance, is the one about the camera. There would be a quad cam module on the back of the phone, with a 108MP primary sensor, followed by a 13MP secondary, and two 5MP and 2MP respectively; for selfies, the user can rely on a lens equipped with a 30MP sensor embedded in the screen via punch-hole.
If these specs sound familiar to you, the reason is simple: the Redmi K40 Pro will largely be a rebranding of the Xiaomi Mi 11 (as a standard version, waiting to see Mi 11 Lite, Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Pro+/Ultra).
Design-wise, as shown in the alleged TENAA images, the camera should take the same format as the one seen on the Mi 11, slightly more elongated, with two larger sensors and as many in a smaller format, arranged together with the LED flash. On the color variants, if the information were to materialize, the only one for now would be the one in blue.
Redmi K40, what will it look like
For the model named M2012K11AC, namely Redmi K40, the choice would fall on the Snapdragon 870, optimized version of Snapdragon 865+. According to Waylab’s screenshots, the smartphone would come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage while there is no information about the decision to introduce further cuts for RAM and storage.
To this we add a 6.81-inch screen and a 4,500 mAh battery. As for the camera module, the K40 Pro’s quad-cam would then be confirmed, with the secondary 13 MP sensor replaced by an 8MP model. Last note of color, in the broadest sense of the term, is that relating to the design: the smartphone would be available, at least as far as known so far, only in gray.
Redmi K40 and K40 Pro, when they arrive
The news of the release of the two K40 has been confirmed by Redmi itself, so there are no doubts now even on the calendar: to be able to grab the two flagship devices but of economic range of the new series the date set by the Chinese company is February 25, or in exactly two weeks.
