An app has been created on Android devices that shows us the ERs closest to us and also data on attendance to avoid waiting
We have a health problem and want to go to the ER, but at the same time we don’t want to spend the whole day at the hospital waiting to be seen? Well, there’s a solution: a new app notifies us of the ER closest to us and with fewer patient queues.
The health app is called ER MR You Mobile. And it’s designed to alert users to hospitals with the busiest emergency rooms. Initially, the app simply indicated the emergency departments closest to us: red crosses on a white flag indicate the nearest emergency room on a navigable map. The developers, however, have thought of adding an index of attendance to allow patients with a less serious code to go to less crowded hospitals and thus avoid long waits. For now, however, it must be said that not all emergency rooms in Italy have granted the data of attendance to the application, but more and more are doing so and soon the service will have a fairly widespread coverage throughout the territory.
How the app works to avoid queues at the ER
The application works quite simply. Once launched, we can scroll the map to discover the nearest hospitals, or by going to the settings (on the left) we can activate the attendance data for each single ER. How do we see this data? Simple, click on the hospital that interests us and we’ll see a report, in the form of a pop-up message, that tells us the number of various codes in the ER that are waiting to be served. This way we’ll know how long we’ll have to wait if, for example, we go to the hospital with a green code. The app has such a simple interface that even older people with less experience in new technologies can use, because each command is intuitive and described. Moreover, the app weighs so little, only 684KB, that it can be installed without any kind of problem on any kind of smartphone.
