If we have particular vision problems, there are a number of features to activate or change in order not to have disturbances while using the phone
Nowadays smartphones are essential in everyday life. Unfortunately, the large screens of phones are not suitable for those who suffer from particular vision problems. Think for example of color-blind or visually impaired people. Luckily, even these people can change some of the settings to use the phone without any problems.
All smartphones, from Android to iPhone, have specific settings that, if changed, allow short-sighted, visually impaired or color-blind people to use every application and function without any difficulties. And don’t forget the third-party apps that allow you to improve the display or enlarge and customize the font of any text on your phone. Before you spend hours on the Play Store or App Store looking for the right app for you, if you have a particular vision problem, you can change the following settings on your smartphone.
Color Correction
There are color blind people in the world and for this reason on both iPhone and Android smartphones there are a number of functions to change the colors displayed on the screen. On Android to do this just go to Settings, then Display and there choose the color temperature. On the iPhone go to Settings then to General, at this point to Accessibility options and from there select the item color filters. iPhone also provides customization of the grayscale. A very useful solution for those who suffer from particular disorders related to bright light. On Android to find more specific options just go to advanced settings, then click on accessibility and here try features like: color inversion or color correction.
Character Size
If you have problems using your smartphone because the characters are too small, you can solve them with just a few clicks. On both iOS and Android OS, all you have to do is go to Settings, then Display and select Font Size.
Reading Texts
If you can’t read the text, even if you increase the font size, because of serious vision problems, then the solution is to set the function to read the written parts. Both on Android and iPhone, in fact, the operating system can read for us messages, emails and perform actions with voice command. On iPhone, from the accessibility options menu, we’ll just have to activate VoiceOver. At this point, every time we touch a point on the screen, the phone will start to read what is displayed. We will also be able to set the voice volume and tone. On Android the function is called TalkBack (but the name may change depending on your model and manufacturer) and is located within the Accessibility section in Advanced Settings.
