Google has chosen the name of the new version of Android: here’s how it will be called and when it will be officially released
Too many sweets are bad for you. That’s what Google must have thought with the name of the new version Android 10 Q. Usually each version of the green dot mobile operating system is linked to a dessert. Android 9, for example is called Pie, while previously we had the Kit Kat, Nougat and Marshmallow versions. But for Android 10 Q, the Mountain View company has changed its strategy: no more sweets. The name of the operating system consists only of the version number, without any more “sweet” suffix.

In a post published on Google’s blog, Android developers explained that the “name” change is part of a broader strategy that also includes a new logo. More minimal and adhering to Google’s guidelines. The Android lettering is no longer green, but black, to make the name easier to read.
With Android 10, Google is changing its approach and wants to make Android a truly global operating system, so that no one has language problems with the various suffixes Kit Kat, Marshmallow and Nougat.
Android 10: when it will be released
There is great anticipation for the release of Android 10 Q. Anytime is a good time: by the end of the week the new operating system should debut on Pixel and Essential Phone smartphones.
