After yet another problem during the streaming of Serie A matches, the platform apologizes and announces that it will compensate “all users who have been impacted by the problem”
The fifth day of the Serie A championship has not gone better than the previous four on the streaming front: the DAZN platform went down several times, especially in the first half hour of the 6:30 pm starts yesterday: Sampdoria-Napoli and Lazio-Torino. The broadcaster has announced a refund for all users affected by the disruption, but many users remain angry.
The company has announced it with a very short note released to the press, whose text has also been shared in public on social networks: “We encountered a technical problem during the matches of 18.30. We are sorry for what happened because we know how important it is for all fans to be able to follow their team. All users who have been impacted by the problem will be eligible for compensation”. These are just a few words, from which it is not yet possible to determine how much the compensation will amount to, to whom it will be paid and in what form. Users, however, have no doubt: “Give us the month of October for free”.
DADZN problems: what happened
The problems started almost immediately: at 18:32 the well-known service Downdetector already showed thousands of reports of inefficiency on DAZN. Exactly 30 minutes later, at 19:02, the number of reports collapsed, a sign that the problems were largely solved.
Downdetector’s data are perfectly confirmed by the accesses we recorded to our guide to DAZN error codes, which just between 18:30 and 19:00 received thousands and thousands of accesses from users looking for a solution to their problems.
Specifically, during yesterday afternoon’s matches the most frequent errors were those with codes 10-006-000, 10-006-002, 55-007-503 and 55-007-034.
DADZN problems: compensation
As far as compensation is concerned, however, as already mentioned, it is not yet clear how it will be provided, to whom, when and how much it will amount to.
Most users, on social networks, ask for at least a free month and this is the choice that probably DAZN will make. Difficult to say, however, by what method will be determined “All users who have been impacted by the problem.” DAZN, perhaps, will extrapolate their identity from the error logs of its servers, where the data of the connected users are recorded.
Whatever method will be chosen, however, it is likely that not all will be compensated also because it will be necessary to decide the minimum amount of disruption received that will entitle to compensation: there are those who have lost only a few minutes of the game, there are those who have lost almost the entire first half.
