Motorola’s iconic foldable smartphone is back: the Razr 2020 will have the Snapdragon 765G on board with 5G network support
Who doesn’t remember Motorola’s first clamshell phones? The company couldn’t pass up an iconic foldable smartphone and is back on track with the RAZR 2020 with 5G connectivity. The new smartphone with a 6.7-inch screen will be able to be folded in at least three configurations.
The latest rumors about the RAZR 2020’s features come from Evan Blass, aka Evleaks, who shared some renders that look original and also bear the words “Motorola Confidential” on the right side. In the images you can see the open, closed and tilted screen of the Razr 2020 as possible configurations: a natural evolution of its predecessor, the Motorola RAZR. One of the changes seems to concern the frame of the screen, which becomes thinner allowing you to recover 0.5 inches in the diagonal of the display.

Rumors about the characteristics of the foldable smartphone from Motorola are becoming more insistent. The processor could be a Soc Snapdragon 765 with support for 5G connection technology via the integrated Snapdragon X52 modem. The foldable screen gains in size with the reduction of the bezel and goes from the 6.2 inches of the predecessor to the current 6.7 inches. The memory configuration is expected to be with an 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage.
The rear camera could be a 48-megapixel Samsung sensor, while the front camera is rumored to be a 20-megapixel selfie-cam. The 2845 mAh battery will support 18 W fast charging.
Motorola RAZR 2020 launch date and price
No rumors are yet circulating about a possible price of the Motorola RAZR 2020, but it certainly won’t be cheap. Its predecessor Motorola Razr 2019 arrived in Italy in early 2020 at a price of about 1600 euros. It is not excluded that this will be the budget range of the RAZR 2020 model as well. As for the launch date, the end of August is rumored, but due to the pandemic it is not excluded that Motorola RAZR 2020 could arrive on the market by now starting next year.
