Energizer says goodbye to the anxiety of the phone running out of power in a few hours. Its smartphone’s 18,000 mAh battery will make the most demanding users happy
Who wouldn’t want a smartphone capable of lasting for a week without a charge? Energizer has granted this wish with its Power Max P18K, a model featuring an unparalleled battery. The announcement was made during the Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona, where the historic manufacturer of batteries and flashlights was presented with more than 20 smartphones.
Among them, the Power Max P18K stands out in several respects. First of all, for the capacity of its battery: a good 18,000 mAh, equivalent to about six times the battery capacity of the Galaxy S10 or the iPhone Xs. According to the data released by Energizer, the smartphone has an autonomy of 2 days of continuous video playback or even 50 days in standby. In addition, you can use it as a normal cell phone for seven days straight, between messages, apps and photos. Also impressive is the fast charging performance: to complete one cycle, in fact, just 2 hours are enough.
The device is intended for consumers who prioritize battery life rather than design. Certainly it is worth noting the fact that the company is totally detached from the trend of the moment: making the phone as thin as possible, at the expense of its autonomy.
Energizer Power Max P18K: features and price
Many thought that the battery was the only valuable element of the smartphone, but it is not so. The device has several interesting features. The Power Max P18K mounts an SoC MediaTek Helio P70 accompanied by 6GB of RAM and a storage space of 128 GB. Those who want to increase the space can rely on the dedicated MicroSD card slot.
The 6.2-inch screen, an IPS LCD panel, has a FullHD+ (2280×1080) resolution without a notch. The two front cameras (with sensors of 16 and 2 megapixels) are “hidden” inside the device and appear with a pop-up system already seen in action in the Vivo Nex S. In the rear instead there are three cameras, respectively 12 MP, 5 MP and 2MP.
To suffer from such a generous battery are the dimensions. The Energizer Power Max P18K is 1.8 centimeters thick, almost three times as much as the top of the range devices presented during the MWC 2019.
The Energizer Power Max P18K will most likely be launched in June at a price of about 600 euros.
