Green Passes still for sale on Telegram: skyrocketing prices

While Telegram stands by and watches, the administrators of some groups continue to sell fake Green Passes: now the price has doubled and you can only pay with untraceable methods.

Telegram doesn’t move and groups selling fake Covid Green Passes are still proliferating. They proliferate and they also make money, since the prices of the certificates are rising impressively in a very few hours. A sign that someone buys them, exposing himself to great risks in order not to undergo the vaccination.

The phenomenon has been going on for a few days: as soon as the government announced that the Green Pass will be mandatory, starting August 6, to enter indoor restaurants, gyms, swimming pools, cinemas and other places open to the public has triggered the race to the fake certificate. Which has become big business, thanks to the support of technology.

In practice, it’s twice as much, but it’s the law of the market: with a lot of demand, prices go up.

And also the prices of the “family packages” go up: now to buy the Pass for 4 people you spend 600-650 euros, for 6 people you spend 650-700 euros.

Probably because of the media clamor of the last hours, then, the sellers of these fake Green Passes have become more cautious in getting paid. They no longer accept traceable payments, only Amazon, Zalando or Paysafecard vouchers or cryptocurrency transfers, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.

It doesn’t change, however, the substance for the buyer: buying a fake Green Pass on Telegram is not only illegal, but it’s also dangerous: to get the fake certificate you need to send a photo of an ID and your health card.

This is sensitive data that can easily be used to pull off scams, create fake profiles on Facebook or other social networks, activate unwanted contracts and, to make matters worse, can be resold after all this.

Telegram won’t budge

In light of the long experience with Telegram groups selling illegal IPTV subscriptions, it’s not at all surprising that this time Pavel Durov’s platform isn’t going to stand by and watch some of its users do this either.

This time, however, the issue is much more serious: if only big TV networks lose (money) by selling shoddy IPTVs, in fact, millions and millions of people across the country risk losing (health) by selling fake Green Passes.
