According to the latest rumors Samsung is planning to launch in early 2019 a smartphone with a foldable screen, here’s what it will look like
Reports of an imminent launch by Samsung of a revolutionary foldable smartphone have followed each other steadily in recent years. This time, however, we should really be there. The Korean company’s new foldable screen phone will be unveiled in early 2019.
The latest rumors tell us about a device with a seven-inch foldable screen within the product fleet being tested by Samsung. Developers at the moment call this foldable smartphone by the codename Winner. It can not be excluded, however, that if it were soon launched on the market this innovative device would be introduced within the series of smartphones Galaxy Samsung. The question then at this point is: at the next Mobile World Congress scheduled for February 2019 in Barcelona we should expect to see a foldable Samsung Galaxy (in addition to Galaxy S10, of course)?
How will the new foldable smartphone from Samsung
When closed, the new foldable smartphone from Samsung will look like a classic phone of last generation, only slightly thicker, with a dual rear camera and also a small frame at the top of the screen where probably will be inserted several sensors in addition to the front camera. When closed, or rather using only one screen, the Samsung phone will have a diagonal of 7 inches that should double in case of opening the second screen. In practice we will switch from using a phablet to use a tablet with a simple touch. A tool then very useful for creatives, freelancers and for those who work in general with smartphones and laptops. Initially Samsung will distribute this new foldable smartphone in a limited edition and then increase the number of phones with dual screen gradually throughout 2019. It is not yet clear therefore if at the beginning of 2019 the likely Samsung Galaxy X will also be available on the Italian market.
So far after an excellent initial interest the market for foldable smartphones has struggled to grow, also accomplices some devices launched but without too much attraction, as in the case of the ZTE Axon M, more a dual phone than a real foldable smartphone. The arrival of Samsung in the sector, however, could give a shake to the future of devices with folding screen, we’ll see.
