Netflix has decided to cancel the free trial period for its users: from now on to access the streaming service will have to subscribe
Stop to the trial period of Netflix: the platform dedicated to streaming movies, TV series and other video content for all age groups has chosen to say enough once again to the possibility of benefiting from the trial phase, that until a few hours ago granted the possibility to access all the content of its vast library.
This is not the first time that Netflix decides to put an end to the use, free or almost free, of its library and then reintroduce it later. The last time, in chronological order, was last year when the platform wanted to give all interested parties the opportunity to sign up for 30 days, registering with a credit card, and then eventually cancel the subscription before the actual activation and, consequently, the related charge. Different instead was the modality available until few hours ago: it was in fact a subscription with possibility of refund. In fact, once completed the subscription to Netflix and paid the fee according to the chosen plan, the new customer had at his disposal a period of time to decide whether to continue or, in full satisfaction or refunded style, forward a request for cancellation and be credited what initially paid out.
Netflix: what changes without the trial period
Following the decision, Netflix has removed all pages relating to the possibility of opting for a free trial period, introducing in their place a faq to confirm the sudden change of course. From today, therefore, those who wish to subscribe to the platform will have to go directly to one of the three profiles available during registration and pay full price subscription.
Once the subscription is made and charged the cost, the customer may in any case terminate the contract, but without being able to benefit from any refund and having the foresight to do so within 24 hours of renewal, otherwise a further charge for the following month. On the other hand, remember, you can access Netflix and all content available until the end of the subscription period.
Netflix, the farewell to the trial period as direct competitors
Netflix is not the first streaming company that decides to give a cut to the trial period, also in light of the fact that there is no obligation from the legal point of view to grant a trial period to potential customers. The same step has been taken in fact also by Disney+, another direct rival of the platform, which recently blocked the seven days free to take a look at the collection of content, from Marvel movies to animation to National Geographic documentaries, just a few months after the debut on the Italian market.
