The Almost Perfect Couple – original title The One – is the new TV series coming to Netflix on March 12, 2021. The show is inspired by the novel of the same name by John Marrs, published in Italy in 2018. We are in front of the perfect show for those who loved titles like Black Mirror and are fans of the sci-fi genre.
But science fiction will not be the only ingredient of this series, which is preparing to conquer the audience: in fact, there will also be a good dose of romance. The story of The One – The Almost Perfect Couple is inspired by the novel by John Marrs and is created by Howard Overman (Misfits). It is set in the future, where the company MatchDNA has managed to develop a DNA test that can define the affinity of a couple: it identifies the only person in the world with whom you can fall passionately in love, at least under the genetic factor.
The birth of this test brings much turmoil in the world. Curiosity creeps into even the happiest couples: what if it were possible to feel even more complete? Thus, a simple test can send both shaky relationships and perfect marriages into crisis. All you need to track down your ideal partner is a lock of hair, which will lead you to conceive love as something more logical and mathematical. Thus, relationships and love are observed from a new point of view.
The thread is very successful: these themes have already been addressed by TV series such as Black Mirror, Osmosis, Soulmates, but we will also hear about them in Solos, the new series from Amazon Prime Video.

As anticipated among the protagonists of the series there will be Hannah Ware, who has already worked on a few series including The First and Betrayals.
Next to her we will find Dimitri Leonidas, in the role of Rebecca’s best friend and co-founder of MatchDNA. Amir El-Mastry will play another friend of Rebecca’s who is secretly in love with her.
Also making up the cast are actors Wilf Scolding, Diarmaid Murtagh, Stephen Campbell Moore, Lois Chimimba, Pallavi Sharda, Eric Kofi-Abrefa, Zoe Tapper, Gregg Chillin and Albano Jeronimo.
