Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini, features, rumors, characteristics, price

From China come the first rumors about the possible release of a Mini version of the Samsung Galaxy S9. On board the Snpadragon 660 and 4GB of RAM

Samsung would be working on a Mini version of the Samsung Galaxy S9, the top-of-the-line smartphone presented at the end of February during Mobile World Congress 2018. The rumors come directly from China where the South Korean company would be testing the device.

Supporting the hypothesis of the imminent release of the Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini there is also the publication on Geekbench, platform where the benchmarks of the new upcoming smartphones are carried out, of a model named “SM-G8750”. Until now, this identification code had never been used by Samsung for one of its smartphones and all clues lead to the Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini. It’s been many years since the South Korean company has produced a compact version of its top of the range (the last one was the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini), but this could be the good one, being the niche of compact smartphones manned only by Sony with Xperia XZ2 Compact.

How will the Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini

The South Korean company has not leaked anything for the moment and there is no certainty that the smartphone appeared on Geekbench is really the Galaxy S9 Mini. And it could also be that the device will never see the light of day, all depending on Samsung’s choices. The test appeared on the benchmark platform allows us to have the first information about the characteristics of the device. Under the screen we will find a Snapdragon 660 chipset (one of the best produced by Qualcomm in recent years) supported by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The screen should be about 5 inches and the design will be very similar to that of the Galaxy S9 with the Infinity Display and very thin bezels. As for the photo compartment, there are no rumors, but it could mount the same sensors present on the Galaxy S9 or those of the Galaxy S8.

When will the Galaxy S9 Mini be released

A tweet from a Chinese user confirmed that the Samsun Galaxy S9 Mini is being tested in China. If the news is true, it would mean that already in the coming weeks, or within a few months, the smartphone should be launched on the market. Impossible for the moment to make predictions about the price, but if the data sheet was confirmed, it would be difficult for it to be less than 500 euros.
