Redmi, low-cost smartphone with 108-megapixel camera

Redmi could soon arrive on the market with a camera phone with an exceptional price: it would be a new model of the Redmi Note 9 range, equipped with 108 MP Samsung sensor.

New products coming from Xiaomi: the Chinese company is ready to launch its first smartphone Redmi with 108MP camera with low cost price. After the Mi Note 10, equipped with a camera with the same resolution but with a much higher cost, this time Xiaomi would have opted for a version capable of appealing to all pockets.

The information comes from the network, through the site Digital Chat Station that would have discovered on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo some interesting information about the new product from Xiaomi. The new smartphone, according to reports, would be part of the triptych of the Redmi Note 9 series whose arrival is scheduled for mid-November. These new devices would therefore replace the rumors related to the Redmi Note 10 series, which could therefore be postponed directly to a date to be determined, most likely in the first half of 2021. Nothing is known about the price of this Redmi smartphone with 108 MP camera, but the starting point is known: the current Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, which has an average price of less than 250 euros in the countries where it is on sale.

Redmi Note 9, the camera

According to the first rumors, Remi Note 9 would be equipped with a 108MP camera with a Samsung Isocell HM2 sensor, the size of 0.7 micron pixels and 1/1.52 of an inch, which is slightly smaller than the one mounted on the Mi Note 10. Interesting is the technology that characterizes it, namely the ability to combine information taken from nine adjacent pixels for results to 12MP clearer and brighter.

Redmi Note 9 and 108MP camera, the predecessors

As anticipated, the new Chinese smartphone would not be the head of the series but at least the third. Last February 20, it was in fact the turn of the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 and Mi Note 10 Pro, with the first at a launch price of 599 euros. In August, however, it was the turn of Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, another little gem not only for the equipment but also for the price, just under 1,000 euros.

Redmi Note 9 could be in good company

The chances that Redmi Note 9 is not the only one with the enhanced camera are not lacking. Just last month, Digital Chata Station had anticipated the possibility of seeing another smartphone from Xiaomi’s home equipped with a 108MP camera on the market, this time accompanied by another macro-type lens.

The device, dubbed J17, would be identified with a model registered under the ID number M2007J17C/M2007J17G and could also include 33W charging capability. Again, however, nothing is certain yet and no useful information has been leaked from the parent company, at least for the time being.
