The social network allows you to change the font to Instagram Stories and make your images unique. Here’s how to do it
You’ve seen an Instagram Story of one of your friends and you’ve noticed something strange: the writings have a different font than usual. Some words are written in bold, while others are written in italics. Nothing strange: Instagram has added new fonts to customize your images in addition to the classic writings.
You don’t need to use third-party apps, but just use the features within the social network dedicated to images. In addition to the Classic font, there are five more available including “Modern” and “Typewriter”. Unfortunately, these fonts can only be used within Instagram Stories and not to comment on the photos of your friends, to customize the bio or the posts we publish. Here’s a step-by-step guide to changing the lettering in Stories on Instagram.
How to change the font in Instagram Stories
If you’re wondering how to make your Stories on Instagram unique, you can start by changing the font of the lettering you insert inside the images. In the Instagram Stories editor, you can choose from five different types of lettering. Doing this is really very simple. First you need to launch the application and then press on the icon with our profile photo at the top left in the slider dedicated to stories. At this point we can take a picture with our camera or choose one from the Gallery of the smartphone. Once we decide which image to use, we enter the photo editor where we can customize the photo. In addition to being able to insert GIFs or special effects, you can also add text. To do this, just press the “Aa” icon in the upper right corner. At this point we decide what to write and in the top center we’ll notice the entry “Classic”. This is the name of the font we are using. To change it in the Instagram Stories just press on the name of the font. The alternatives are: Modern, Neon (italic), Typewriter and Bold. Once you have made your choice and confirmed the font, you can publish the Story on Instagram.
How to change font in comments, posts and bio
The five fonts made available in Instagram Stories are not available for comments, posts and bio. But don’t give up, using third-party apps you can customize this aspect as well. On Android we suggest iFont, while for iPhone users there is AnyFont. The use in both cases is very simple: launch the application, write the message you want to publish on Instagram, choose the font, copy the text and paste it on the social network dedicated to photos.
