Prime is Amazon’s subscription service and offers several benefits, but there is a way to get it for free for 30 days or without a credit card
Amazon Prime is a subscription service that requires you to put a credit card or bank account in your account as a payment method. However, there are ways to get it for free, like the 30-day trial or 90-day trial if you’re a student, or to use alternative payment methods.
Prime’s service doesn’t stop at fast, unlimited one-day deliveries, but offers far more benefits. The €3.99/month or €36/year subscription includes access to streaming movies and TV series from Prime Video, gamer content from Prime Gaming, over hundreds of ebooks in Prime Reading and even over 2 million music tracks from Amazon Music. In addition to providing special discounts such as the Lightning Deals or the two days of Prime Day, which in 2020 are set for October 13 and 14. To access the service you need to create an Amazon account and choose the payment method: here are what are available.
Amazon Prime, how to get it for free
To use Amazon Prime for free you can access the free trial the first time you activate the subscription. By signing up for the service offered you will have a free trial period of 30 days, or 90 days if you subscribe to a Prime Student, after which the renewal will be automatic and you will start paying for the subscription. However, the user will be able to deactivate the subscription before the trial period expires, continuing to enjoy all Prime services until the end of the 30 days.
If, on the other hand, you are interested in switching phone carriers or managers of other home services, there are companies that sometimes offer in the subscription fee also the Amazon Prime service for free. For this reason, before activating it you might want to check if your phone operator or electricity manager is making any offer for Prime that you can access.
Amazon Prime, how to pay without a credit card
Amazon does not allow you to pay for purchases or subscriptions with PayPal, but requires you to register a payment method of your choice between a credit card, debit card or ATM card, and a direct link to your bank account. Although not explicitly specified, you can also register prepaid cards as your preferred payment method on your Amazon account. The important thing is that, at the time of purchase, the prepaid card has been recharged with the amount to be scaled.
Amazon Prime, how to enter the payment method
The payment method will have to be configured for your Amazon account and it is the same to be used to pay for the subscription to Prime services. If you already have an account, you can check or change your payment method by logging into the website and then following the path Accounts and Lists > My Account > Your Payments. At this point, the website usually requires you to authenticate again by entering your password to access the payments page.
Once open, you can check your registered credit and debit cards, the balance of Amazon Gift Vouchers you have received, as well as the ability to add additional credit and debit cards, or a checking account by simply entering the BIC and IBAN code. After setting your preferred payment method, and eventually activating Prime, all you have to do is wait for Prime Day discounts, Lightning Deals and take advantage of its benefits.
