The first iPhone 12 models have arrived, showing its design and possible features. Here’s how the new Apple smartphones
Apple would seem to have finalized the design of the next iPhone 12, while it would still not be all decided with regard to the hardware that will be integrated into the smartphones that the Cupertino company will present in late summer or, at most, early autumn.
At least so it would seem looking at the latest “dummy”, the three-dimensional models that serve mainly to manufacturers of covers and accessories to take measures and prepare in advance their products. The latest models have been revealed by the leak site SonnyDickinson.com a few hours ago and follow fairly closely both some previous dummy, less detailed, and the render already circulated in recent days. The sum of the sources, therefore, would suggest that the shape and size of the iPhone 12 will now be what we’ve been seeing for some time.
iPhone 12: how they will be
The 2020 iPhone range will consist of four models: iPhone 12 (5.4-inch), iPhone 12 Max (6.1-inch), iPhone 12 Pro (6.1-inch) and iPhone Pro Max (6.7-inch). They will all resemble a cross between the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 4: they will inherit the proportions and beveled corners from the former, while the flat aluminum edges from the latter. The three-dimensional models also show the bumper with the rear photo department, however, should never be taken into account because it is not covered by the covers: in practice it is inserted only to show the size and shape of the box.
iPhone 12: the certain components (and those not)
Ben more complex, however, is the question of what will be inserted inside the four iPhone 12. Starting with the displays, for which according to rumors there could be two, if not three, suppliers. Those sure seem Samsung, for the iPhone 12, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max models, and LG for the iPhone 12 Max model. For the latter model it would seem that Apple has also evaluated, and discarded, the Chinese supplier BOE, Beijing Oriental Electronic, whose name came up at the end of April along with that of GIS also in relation to the supply of the fingerprint sensor.
All models will be equipped with Apple’s SoC A14 Bionic and will be compatible with 5G (but only the 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max will also handle millimeter waves). The first two models will have 4 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of ROM, while the two top-of-the-line models will have 6 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of ROM. As for the cameras, rumors speak of two sensors on the iPhone 12 and 12 Max, of which the first that comes to 64 MP, and three sensors plus a LiDAR for depth on the other two models.

As for prices, finally, the uncertainty is even greater but there is talk of a range of $ 649-1,399. The iPhone 12 is expected to cost $649-749 (128-256 GB). The iPhone 12 Max is expected to cost $749-849 (128-256 GB). The iPhone 12 Pro is expected to cost $999-1,299 (128-512 GB). The iPhone 12 Pro Max is expected to cost $1,099-1,399 (129-512 GB).
