Hyperscape is a new battle royale developed by Ubisoft and available for free. Here’s how to download it and how is the gameplay
Hyperscape is the new battle royale from Ubisoft: the French software house launches its first title of this genre and tries to launch the challenge to Fortnite, Call of Duty: Warzone, PBUG and Apex, just to name the most famous ones. The game was officially launched on June 2 and in this first period is still in a beta phase and technical testing restricted to a few users. As the days go by, the number of users will increase thanks to the possibility of getting drops and access keys through Twitch.
And Twitch, the live streaming platform that has been gaining great success in recent months, has helped Ubisoft in the development of the video game. But that’s not all. Twitch users can become the protagonists and make life more difficult for players/streamers while they are in game, enabling or disabling features thanks to the Hyper Scape Crowncast extension (visible only from PC). Here’s everything you need to know about Hyperscape.
Hyperscape gameplay
Hyperscape is a classic Battle Royale: you are thrown into a world (Neo Arcadia) with 99 other players and only the team that stays alive until the end wins. In this first phase is available only the Crown Rush mode, which puts one in front of the other team composed of three players, but soon will come also the Solo mode.
The gameplay is very particular and the game seems to be really frantic. Eight different weapons are available in the game, including shotguns, snipers and pistols. The weapons have different levels and the higher it is, the more damage will be inflicted. In addition to weapons, players can also loot skills: there are six in total and they offer both defensive and offensive skills. It’s not the classic circle that shrinks with the passing of seconds, but after a certain amount of time entire districts of the map are eliminated, and the player is forced to run to avoid getting stuck. The respawning of dead companions is also very unique: after you get killed, you can keep going around the map to look for other dead people, position yourself on top of them, and allow your companions to revive us.
The endgame is different than other Battle Royale, to win there are two options: defeat all enemies, or take the crown that appears on the map and makes us visible to everyone and escape for 45 seconds.
Hyperscape and Twitch integration
Hyperscape is also great news for its native integration with Twitch. Ubisoft worked together with the live streaming platform and developed an ad hoc extension (Hyper Scape Crowncast) that streamers can activate during the live broadcast and allow viewers to activate extra features. A level of interaction that has never been seen before. But it doesn’t end there: users watching Twitch live streamers playing Hyperscape earn points to complete the Battle Pass faster.
How to get Hyperscape drops on Twitch
The game is still in a beta version and can’t just be downloaded from Uplay, but you need to get the Key Drop via Twitch. What this means. That some streamers “give away” the key to the game, but to get it you need to watch the live stream. In Italy among the streamers that give away the Drop there are Pow3r and Delux, but there are also others.
How to download Hyperscape
After getting the drop you can download and happen to Hyperscape. The download of the video game can be done from Uplay. Right now the game is only available for PC, while the first tests for consoles will start on July 12. Cross-play is planned, but not at this early stage.
