Nexpaq is a case designed in Hong Kong and has several modules that turn the smartphone into an all-purpose tool. It costs $99
After modular smartphones, the first modular phone case has also arrived. All this means that the cover can be mounted according to your needs and tastes. The case in question is called Nexpaq and was designed by a company from Hong Kong.
On the famous crowdfunding site Kickstarter, Nexpaq has received about $300 thousand in funding. Are you wondering how it works? Simple, the cover has a whole series of interchangeable modules, which make the case extremely customizable. There are modules that allow you to insert a spare battery or to increase the power of the speakers. Then there’s the laser pointer module, the light module, one with an additional USB port, and even the humidity detector and thermometer. To name just a few.
How Nexpaq is made
Each module is purchased separately from the cover and they cost different depending on the functionality they offer. The modules range from $4.9 to $39.9, while the Nexpaq device is priced at $99. Currently, the modular cover is only available for pre-order. The company developing the cover has let it be known that they are also designing new modules. Coming soon will be those useful to turn the smartphone into a dual-sim, another one that serves to make the phone a real remote control and finally a module that inserts a system to perform the alcohol test into the phone.
